WELCOME TO THE LIST! FIVE PAWNS CASTLE LONG (RESERVE)

  • Castle Long & Castle Long Reserve – Five Pawns

Welcome to the newest member of my Favorite Juice List!  I’ve been vaping enough of this to call it a favorite.  Castle Long is a very unique flavor; toasted coconut, roasted almond, brown sugar, two different vanillas, and Kentucky bourbon.  The “Reserve” edition is aged in an oak barrel and although it will “darken” some of the previously mentioned flavors, it will add a rich charred oakiness to the flavor profile.  It’s a little light in the TH department, so I typically run it in a Kayfun and pump up the volts a bit to satisfy.  It ain’t cheap, but you just may love this one for a special occasion.  Enjoy!

“OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE” – NOT!!

Unacceptable and it must be stopped!

All of the ridiculous bans and taxes are… well… ridiculous, however this one will set a very unwanted precedent. This one will shut down businesses and make people lose their jobs and investments. But most importantly, this one will drive people back to smoking.

This needs to be fought by all vendors, manufacturers, and vapers alike. Do you want to go to pre-filled “Blu” cartomizers? I certainly DO NOT!

We have a legitimate healthier alternative to smoking based on the studies so far. We are creating jobs. We are building businesses. We are adding to the economy. We are potentially saving lives. So what does our so called “Of the people, For the people, By the people” government want to do? Shut it down. For shame… for shame.

What’s the matter NY? Getting nervous? Losing too much money in taxes as people find their way to the healthier alternative that is vaping? Panicking are you? Is THIS your solution? Put your citizens back on the cigarettes that we KNOW are bad for us? Thank you for your concern.

We continue to be our own worst enemy.

I’m disgusted.

How about waiting for more facts and science to come in before making such a rash and uneducated decision? Or is “it looks like smoking” good enough for you? And IF that science tells us we need to fix things, WE FIX THEM. But don’t take it away from us. The ONE THING that has worked when all others have failed.

Did I mention I’m disgusted?

SOME SERIOUS SERIOUS SIDE BY SIDE VAPING – THE KANGER AEROTANK MEGA VS. THE ASPIRE NAUTILUS

Based on a BUNCH of comments and questions I received over the Kanger Aerotech Mega video I recently posted along with the declaration that it is my new recommendation for a large form factor clearomizer tank, I set off last night to confirm what I kinda already knew.

I decided to do some serious “side by side” vaping from the chair. I set up both tanks with new heads and the same liquid. A liquid I’m quite familiar with… Juice Vapor’s Tribute. The resistances were similar, 1.9 Ohms on the Nautilus and 2.0 on the Aero. I put each on similar 33.3 devices, the SID and the VAMO, and off I went to my chair to relax, have a vape, and compare the two.

Adjusting

Adjusting the Nautilus is easier to do due to the indents and knurled air control ring.  However, you adjustments are limited to the hole sizes.  The Aerotank is a little trickier to adjust and more likely to come off it’s setting, however, without any indents you do have unlimited adjustability.

Build Quality and Looks

I continue to prefer the looks of the Aero Mega over the Nautilus, but I’ll say it again, I liked it even better before they added the “(ProVari) bling”  I also prefer the way the Aero Mega holds the glass tank in place and favor the design over the threaded glass of the Nautilus (which I’ve heard has broken on some users).

Liquid Capacity

The Nautilus shines here with it’s 5ml e-liquid capacity over the 3.8ml of the Aero.  A filling design improvement on the Aero Mega could get it closer to the 5ml of the Nautilus as when it’s flipped back over after filling you so see a fair amount of wasted space.  Something else to keep in mind is that it’s more difficult to see when to fill the Mega as compared to the Nautilus.  On the Mega, the liquid drops below the deck and it appears to be empty.  Hold it upside down to see how much liquid you REALLY have left.

Civility

I thought the Nautilus a much more “civil” vape.  Quieter and smoother.  The Aero was crackling and breathy when compared.  Several times it reminded me of my childhood watching the Sleestak on Land Of The Lost.

Vape Quality

If none of the above means anything to you, it really all comes down to this.

  • Consistency – similar
  • Vapor – similar
  • Throat hit – similar
  • Flavor – AHA!

I thought the flavor of the Aero Mega was better than that of the Nautilus.  Much better?  No.  Noticeable?  In my humble opinion… Yes.   The Nautilus was slightly more muted than the Mega, however, both provide an outstanding vape.  Allow me to say it again… we’ve come a long way baby!

So my recommendation for a clearomizer does change to the Aerotank Mega from Kanger.  Due mostly to:

  • Looks
  • Lack of threaded glass
  • Better flavor

Now PLEASE Kanger… make the heads consistent!!  🙂

THE NEW KANGER AEROTANKS – THE MINI AND MEGA

A PBusardo Review Kanger AeroTank Mini & Mega

In this video we take a full and long look at these new tanks from Kanger & break apart one of their new heads. I also talk about cleaning clearo heads.

What’s the deal with “Take 2”?? Why Take 2? Because in that video a slightly cranky Phil looks at the FINAL VERSION of the Kanger Aerotank Mega and Mini as opposed to the pre-production prototype version he just spent 5 hours making the video review for. Which, by the way, he thought was the final version. Ugh!

Post Review Follow-up:

  • 4/5/14 – I’ve confirmed with Kanger THIS IS the final version of their new tanks and the version you will be able to purchase.

INTERESTING NEW KANGER TANKS

A couple interesting new tanks from Kanger… The Aerotank Mini and the Aerotank Mega.

Both are glass & stainless.  Both are slick looking.  Both have airflow control.  The Mega has a very familiar look to it.  But it’s the heads that are most interesting.  Look familiar?

IMG_6468

The design looks much less like a standard Kanger head and much more like an Aspire head.

You can bet I’ll be tearing these apart soon enough.

THE ELECTRIC ANGEL NEBULA GENESIS ATOMIZER

It’s been a trying night in review land tonight.

I grabbed the Electric Angel Nebula out of it’s slot for a review.  The goal was to build it and begin the evaluation.

Here’s a little detail on the atty:

  • Stainless steel body
  • Borosilicate glass tank
  • Adjustable air flow controller with 1, 1.2, and 1.6mm air holes
  • An insulated 2.25mm wick hole
  • 22mm in diameter
  • 4ml tank capacity
  • Brass connections
  • Holes in the posts for easy coil installation
  • Includes mesh, 32 AWG Kanthal, and spare o-rings
  • Price is 119,00€ = $164.20
  • Available from Electric Angel

The issues began right away.

  1. The first thing I noticed was the VERY SMALL wick hole.  I’m not a fan of tiny wick holes in the genesis design which limit larger wicks with more liquid capacity.
  2. I tried to remove the glass from the atomizer’s body.  I was applying so much force I started to worry about it breaking so I gave up.
  3. I built my coil with the plan of using a small cotton wick pushed into the tank.  When installing the coil, I noticed the negative screw didn’t tighten, it just kept spinning.  I tightened it as best I could.
  4. When I tried to position the coil, the negative post snapped off rendering the device useless.

I’m not going to spend time on a video for this.  Unfortunately, this one gets a thumbs down and will be removed from the queue.
