Trip’s Video

Like him or not. Agree with him or not. I personally don’t care. Now is the time for unity.

Trip has a big voice in the vaping industry and has, without a doubt, assisted in propelling the industry forward.

I for one will support anything that can help, and I think this can help considering Mr. Gregory Conley has been one of our strongest advocates since day 1.

A BILLION LIVES UPDATE

From Aaron Biebert:

What’s next?
Thanks to all who joined us to celebrate our big premiere in North America. It was a giant success with over 1400 people there, a full house!

Here are some of the highlights:

– Senator Johnson met with us before the red carpet to listen to concerns and explain his fight against the FDA. See what he released the following workday.

– Herman Cain not only attended the premiere, but also had me on his show on 8/8/16 to tell his 6 million listeners what their government is doing to them. Catch the full segment here.

– After the FDA deemed life-saving vapor products were somehow tobacco products, Facebook deemed our movie was a tobacco product. They will now be in our next movie.

– Austin Pamaj (4 million followers) got very emotional at the after-party (thanks again to Molecule Labs, Von Erl, B Liquids, Smith & Baxter, and Velvet Cloud). He plans on making a big video about the topic.

After the big premiere, there are now tens of thousands of people talking about #ABillionLives onFacebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Our little army is growing.
So what now?

Because of your support, we have some interest from Hollywood. We’re almost there!

Special screening in OKC
If we can do a couple big events in NYC and Hollywood to build more awareness, we should be able to bring it to any city/town/village in the US where there’s enough interest, along with any other country where we’ve done a big premiere (New Zealand & Australia so far).
In order to pull this off, we need to see what cities can sell at least 100 tickets.
If you can organize a large group to bring A Billion Lives to your city, please fill out this form.

If you want to go, but can’t organize a group, we have more big announcements coming very soon. With your help, this will be all over the world.

Here we go!

FROM CASAA – PLEASE TAKE ACTION AND SHARE!

Senator Ron Johnson (WI) is taking the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to task over the impact of the “deeming rule” on small to medium vapor businesses across the country. Sen. Johnson, Chair of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, has sent several letters to the FDA requesting to see, among other things, their calculations regarding the number of vapor businesses that would be forced to close as a result of the deeming rule.

The FDA has rebuffed his request for information.

From CASAA’s perspective, the independent vapor shop is vital for ensuring consumer access to a wide variety of vapor products, as well as for helping smokers successfully transition to smoke-free products. Without a doubt, the FDA regulations will kill the diverse vapor market, which will lead to thousands of vapor shops closing. Senator Johnson is working to prevent that.

Please take a moment now to send Senator Johnson a thank you letter.

“Thank you for standing up for vaping.”

(For a pre-written letter that you can print and send, click here. To edit this letter, make a copy in google drive and then include your additions)

Chris Hughes for State Representative!

From the Chris Hughes for State Representative Facebook Page

On July 13th the PA General Assembly passed a tax bill that included $650 million in tax increases on PA residents. The lion’s share of these tax increases fall on the backs of smokers, and former smokers. In other words, people the legislature felt they could bully and get away with it. The legislature and Governor Wolf apparently felt it was necessary to further expand our state government. I decided enough is enough. For this reason, I have decided to seek election to the office of State Representative for the 84th Legislative District of PA. It’s long past time to demand our state government stop spending the people’s money like it grows on trees. I’d also like to be a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, and help defend small businesses that are the backbone of our economy. I hope you’ll consider supporting me by contributing, and volunteering through my site chrishughes4pa.com, and that you will also write my name in on Nov 8th.
Thank you.
Chris Hughes

Go get’em Chris! All my best!

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE WISMEC MOTIV – 8/16/16

  • This product has been received in exchange for promotion and/or review. It was received prior to 8/8/16.

THE WISMEC MOTIV

Ok, so I opened this one up and the first thing I thought… it’s a bigger, slicker Joyetech AIO type of device… same closed cup design, same LED color selections and how you select them, same top airflow, same way the coil attached to the top cap, etc… so I filled it up with a 12mg (using the pre-installed DS Dual 0.25ohm, a DS Notch coil .25 is also included), tightened up the airflow and tried to mouth to lung it and I realized that it is WAY not an AIO.  I was greeted by one of the harshest vapes I’ve experienced in a while, so this one appears to work best for the direct lung style of vaping.

I’m beginning to think devices such as this and in general should be clearly labeled as to what type of vaping they support best so that the consumer doesn’t make a purchase expecting one thing and receives another.

So I’m going to change up the liquid and see how it does in direct lung.  Bottom line I think this a pretty slick, direct lung, all-in-one very similar to the Joyetech AIO but supporting DL vaping far better than the AIO does.  It has an internal 2ml tank and an internal 2200mAh battery.  No adjustments on this one other than the LED tank color.

One other thing.  The damn pre-installed coils are set up on the post HARD!  I needed rubberized pliers to get one off and broke a top cap trying to get another one off.  This definitely needs to be addressed.

Here’s some additional information from Wismec:

Motiv, designed in California, the first elliptic device with built-in atomizer by Wismec, applies the leakproof system with 2ml e-liquid capacity. Compact yet efficient, the neoteric structure with specially designed decorative cap makes the device convenient in use and fashionable in look. Coming with various attractive colors for your preference, the newly added indicator light of seven changeable colors also makes Motiv quite popular and unique.

Parameters:
Length: 132.6mm
Diameter: 29mm
Battery Capacity: 2200mAh
Atomizer Capacity: 2ml
Standard Configuration:
1*Motiv
1*DS NC 0.25ohm
1*DS Dual 0.25ohm
1*USB Cable
1*User Manual

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Do custom or double-wrapped batteries get hotter?

A fun way to customize your setup is to cover a battery with a sheet of paper with a great design on it under a clear wrap. Does this, or double-wrapping to make the wrap more durable, cause the battery to run hotter?

Let’s find out.

I discharged at Samsung 25R5 battery at 20A down to 2.8V using different setups. Here are the maximum temperatures reached for each setup…

– No wrap = 76°C

– Single IMRBatteries wrap = 78°C

– Double IMRBatteries wrap = 79°C

– Single IMRBatteries wrap over sheet of 20lb bond paper = 79°C

Bottom Line: The three wrapped setups reach essentially the same temperature so there’s no need to worry about batteries getting too hot if you use custom or doubled wraps.

Additional Information: Why such a small change in temperature when using wraps? One reason is that they are very thin. The other reason is that the wraps allow the battery to better radiate heat away. How so? Bare metal is a truly lousy radiator of heat, i.e., its “emissivity” is quite low. By adding a wrap we increase the emissivity of the battery significantly. This allows more heat, in the form of infrared energy, to be radiated out and the battery cools a bit better. It’s why heat sinks are often painted or anodized black. Even though the paint adds what is essentially a layer of insulation to the heat sink, the black paint has a very high emissivity and makes it easier for the heat sink to radiate heat.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE KANGER JUPPI STARTER KIT – 8/11/16

  • This product has been received in exchange for promotion and/or review. It was received prior to 8/8/16.

THE KANGER JUPPI STARTER KIT

Here’s the Juppi starter kit dy Kanger.  Now before you email me and tell me that I just misspelled something take a look at the photos.  Good news is that they’ve already identified and corrected it, but wow.

The Juppi is a variable wattage device firing up to 75W, does temp control with  Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel 316 and Ni-Chrome, uses a single 18650 battery behind a magnetic battery cover.  The 510 connection is about midway down on the side of the device.

The fire button is on the side of the device which should make for an easier firing solution than we just saw with the Arymi Armor box.

It includes their new Juppi tank.  Although I haven’t tried it yet, this does look like a direct lung tank and comes with a .2 ohm, re-wickable coil.  Kanger recommends a liquid with a VG ratio higher than 50% with this tank.

But that coil though.  At first glance, it looks like a pain in the buttocks to re-wick.  Also, it looks like the notched Gil coil that was just in the Gil tank but has since been replaced by the new Gil coil which is now just a coil for better flavor and vapor production.

I’m so confused.

Anyway, here’s some additional information from Kanger:

The Kanger Juppi Starter Kit features the Juppi TC Box Mod and the Juppi Tank. The Juppi Box Mod fires up to 75 watts and requires (1) high amp 18650 battery (sold separately). The Kanger Juppi Box Mod supports Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel 316 and Ni-Chrome wire in temperature control mode. The Juppi Box Mod has a comfortable side fire button with a smooth stainless steel construction. Batteries are easily replaced with the magnetized battery cover and may be charged via the micro USB charging port.

The Kanger Juppi tank utilizes the unique Juppi 0.2ohm atomizer head which features a unique coil structure design. The coil structure design is very similar to the NotchCoil and is rewickable as well with the included cotton. The coil design allows for a more efficient heating surface area for a smooth vaping experience. The Kanger Juppi Tank features a 3ml e-Liquid capacity glass tank with a convenient top fill design. The Kanger Juppi features dual symmetric airflow slots. It also features a cone drip tip design which allows for a cooler vaping experience and more vapor production.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE KANGER CUPTI 2 – 8/11/16

  • This product has been received in exchange for promotion and/or review. It was received prior to 8/8/16.

THE KANGER CUPTI 2

Here’s the Cupti 2, the bigger brother of the Cupti.

This is another internal tank device, similar to the original Cupti. It has the body shape of the Drip Box 160 (Reuleaux), uses two 18650 batteries, fires up to 80W, does temp control for Nickel 200, Titanium and Stainless Steel and is firmware upgradeable.   As a matter of fact, they’re already hinting at a 80W to 100W upgrade.

Although it’s substantially larger than the Cupti, we don’t gain any additional tank capacity, it has the same 5ml tank as seen in the Cupti 1.

I like the fact that this one comes with an adapter that will turn it into a standard 510 device.  We didn’t see that with the original Cupti.

Regarding the big M you’re gonna see on the screen.  I’ll figure that out when I get to it.  🙂

Here’s some additional information from Kanger:

The Kanger CUPTI 2 is an All-In-One device that is designed for both mouth to lung and direct lung vapers. The Kanger CUPTI 2 features a large 5.0ml built-in tank that utilizes the leak resistant cup design to help minimize leaks. The Kanger CUPTI 2 can fire up to 80 watts and supports Nickel 200, Titanium and Stainless Steel atomizers in temperature control mode. The Kangertech CUPTI 2 supports the CLOCC atomizer heads and includes (1) SS316L 0.5ohm atomizer head for direct lung users. The Kanger CUPTI also features an adjustable airflow valve located right under the mouth piece for maximum airflow.

The included 510 tank adapter allows you to use your favorite tank or dripper with the CUPTI 2. The Kanger CUPTI requires 2 high amp 18650 batteries (sold separately) and is easily replaced using the bottom battery door which is easily locked and unlocked. The CUPTI 2 has a micro USB port for charging and future firmware updates. All you require is batteries and e-Liquid and you are ready to start vaping!

Features and Specs:

  • Dimensions: 4-1/8″ x 2″ x 1-5/8″
