THE INNOKIN KROMA

Innokin made a sexy looking HOT ROD!!

This is a pretty slick looking device with a lot of eye catching curves. The texturing cut into the body makes it super grippy. The fire button works best as a trigger, but the location of the button suites the middle finger better.

It has an internal 2000 mAh battery and features 2A rapid charging. In variable wattage mode, you can set it up to 75W. It also features temperature control courtesy of the Aethon chipset.
It comes in red, black, blue, purple (shown below), silver, and white.

The high quality bright OLED clearly displays all important information and the power and ‘+’ – ‘-‘ adjustment buttons raise or lower temperature or watts in .5 increments.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE KANGER DRIPEZ – 12/15/16

THE KANGER DRIPEZ

Ok, I’m sure there are people out there who don’t think this looks ridiculous, but I’m not convinced I’m one of them. 🙂

Here’s the Kanger Dripez! One part giant mod, one part badly designed atomizer, and one part perfume dispenser. Alright, let’s give them some points for originality and creativity and get serious for a minute.

In addition to reminding me of a perfume bottle, it also reminds me of a manual version of the Eclipse EQ.  An Eclipse EQ?  What the hell is that?  At least Basil Ray will remember what I’m talking about.

This is a single 18650, 80W device with variable wattage, temperature control, and is firmware upgradable. It has an onboard glass bottle that holds about 15ml of e-liquid. Instead of dripping or squonking with this one, you’re pumping. No wonder why Dimitris likes it so much!

The perfumed style pump, pumps the liquid out of the glass bottle and into the side of the atomizer.

Let’s talk about that atomizer for a minute.

First, it comes with that little anti-spit back insert that fell out of a similar atomizer on me and was melted by the coil.

Second, the air slot on this is completely missing the coil and it way too high, IMHO of course.

Third, when I saw the post design, I thought WHY does it not have a Velocity style post for dual coils?? Easy answer, it’s not designed for dual coils. The little spout on the side of the atomizer that the tube connect to could easily short a coil so they recommend a single coil only and want to you be sure it’s on the opposite side of the spout. I’m quite sure people will ignore that in the manual, build a dual coil, not realize there’s a piece of metal sticking out on the inside of that atomizer and wonder why it’s shorting out.

Fourth, on their site it says is comes with something called the Push RBA 0.3 Ohm X 1 (Mouth to lung inhale).  I see nothing about the included atomizer that will do proper mouth to lung.

The fire and control buttons are very lose and super rattly on this one. It works best if you pick it the right way and use the side of your thumb to fire it.

Those of you who like simpler looking devices may want to stay away from this one because it screams… “What the fuck is that?” 🙂

Those of you who love to drip, but hate the act of dripping and squonking, this one may be right up your alley!

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE KANGER TOGO – 12/15/16

THE KANGER TOGO MINI

This is a solid little all-in-one style box mod. There are no adjustments on this one, you get what you get. There’s an internal 1600mAh battery and it comes with a .5 Ohm SS coil for direct lung and a NiCr (really???) 1.5 Ohm coil for MTL. Really surprised and a bit disappointed that the 1.5 is NiCr and not Kanthal. It comes in red, orange, and black.

I did try this for MTL and I was happy with the performance. I thought the flavor was off a bit and now that I see it’s using NiCr, that kinda explains it.

The fire button has a bit of rattle and with it sitting flush, it’s difficult to find at times. I wished it stuck out just a little bit.

I REALLY like the finish on this one. It’s got a rough, grippy finish that I haven’t seen before. Hopefully it’s as durable as it looks.

Here’s some additional information from Kanger:

Specifications:

  • Length: 44mm
  • Height: 76.5mm

From Vaping.com – Public health expert destroys CDC, Surgeon General

From Vaping.com:

“If the science matters in tobacco control – which apparently it doesn’t – this should put an end to the Surgeon General, the CDC, and others claiming that youth experimentation with e-cigarettes will lead to a progression to smoking and to a re-normalization of smoking among youth.”

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: MXJO Yellow/Silver 35A 3000mAh 18650 Bench Retest Results…still an overrated battery

Bottom Line: This rewrapped cell has an exaggerated current rating and is the same as the older rewrapped yellow/silver “35A 3000mAh” MXJO. When discharged continuously at its claimed 35A rating an internal protection device is triggered at around 100°C, permanently disabling the cell. This helps protect it from venting but renders the cell useless and means it cannot be rated a 35A cell.

WARNING: Do not assume that this internal protection device will prevent the cell from venting if you abuse this battery! It is not guaranteed to work and is only there as another possible layer of protection against using this cell at way above its rating.

This new yellow/silver wrap has “Type 2” above “20A CDC” in small print on the “back” of the cell. I assume that means Continuous Discharge Current. While I applaud MXJO for putting this rating on the wrap, it’s almost hidden and is essentially useless as very few people know what “CDC” means. In bold print on the front they have a meaningless 35A max or pulse rating with no mention of the continuous rating, which would be easy to add there. Even if they kept the continuous rating on the back of the cell they could have said “20A Continuous” or even “20A Cont.” and used much larger lettering.

These MXJO’s are identical in appearance and performance to the 15A/3000mAh Samsung 30Q. The 18650 ratings table has been updated to include this cell.

I’ve seen posts claiming that this MXJO was lasting twice as long as an HG2 or 30Q before needing to be charged. It cannot last longer than the cell that it is a rewrap of, the Samsung 30Q. If MXJO switches to a lower grade cell, always a risk with rewrapped batteries, it could last less.

The two cells tested were donated by Kai Chen from All Day Vapes (www.alldayvapes365.com). Thank you!
