I’ve been wanting to review a device with the VO Chipset and this may very well be the first one. There’s one thing on their site that has my interest:

Hmmm… I need to know more about that in both research and testing. 🙂
The device itself feels really good. It’s a solid little device that fires up to 80W and uses a single 18650 battery behind a really nice hinged/magnetic battery door. It comes with panels, but you can purchase additional ones on the VO Tech website to further customize it for yourself.

Sorry gang, like I mentioned in the SMY Video, there probably won’t be another review until I return from China, but I’m busy using, testing and getting numbers on devices so we can get to some reviews when I return.

Ok, so why is this New In The Queue (MAYBE)??
Let’s get into my head as I unboxed this device.
- WOW, is there anything even in the box? It was very light!
- WOW, there is something in the box, and it’s really light! There appears to be no metal in the frame, it’s all plastic.
- WOW, it kinda feels cheap because it’s really light!
- WOW, anyone who likes a light device is really going to like this!
Then I put the battery in…
5. WOW, they really ripped off Evolv.
This is a pet peeve of mine. It’s one thing to model your interface off another, it’s a completely different thing to duplicate the interface pixel for pixel so when you push the button, you don’t even know what board your device is using. Although the menu system is different, the main interface and some of the error messages are pixel for pixel duplicates of the Evolv interface and that bugs me.
So I may use these as testers (DINO), but I don’t think I’m going to review them or give them away for that reason.

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Peel off those battery stickers!
If you bought Samsung, Sony, LG, or Panasonic/Sanyo batteries then they probably came with stickers covering up the printing the manufacturer put on the battery wrap.
These stickers are added by the reseller/distributor, not the battery manufacturer, and is done to comply with shipping regulations. But these stickers keep us from verifying what batteries we actually have and interfere with checking their authenticity, a growing concern.
More than once a battery has had the wrong sticker put on it. There are at least four pink 18650’s, two browns, four reds, four blues, etc.
Taking off the sticker means you can verify that you got the battery you paid for. It’s also the first thing we’ll ask you to do if you have any questions about, or problems with, your battery.
So don’t hesitate to remove those stickers!
