The time to act is now. The bi-partisan Cole-Bishop Amendment in Congress has passed the House as Section 753 of the House Agriculture Appropriations bill. This language that VTA and the rest of the vapor industry have been fighting for will save vapor products for adults by ensuring that they are not wiped out of the market.
Right now, Congressional leaders are discussing the full scope of FY2018 Appropriations bills that will be agreed upon by the House and Senate and whether Section 753 will be in the final package.
Given all the attention being paid to the issue of minors getting access to vapor products, this is the perfect time for our industry to demand passage of the Cole-Bishop Amendment which will ensure that vapor products remain available to adult smokers desperately trying to quitand which also will take concrete steps to protect youth.
But, unless they hear from everyone NOW they may not even know that they have the chance to protect teens with the common-sense changes that are designed to limit teen exposure to marketing and keep vapor products away from them. For example, the amendment:
- Bans print advertising in all but adult-only publications;
- Bans self-service displays in stores;
- Bans sales of e-cigarettes in vending machines; and
- Bans sales of e-cigarettes in kiosks.
In addition, the bill requires FDA to start a rulemaking process on characterizing flavors at some point in the next 12 months, and it also requires labels to boldly warn “Keep Out of Reach of Children” and “Underage Sale is Prohibited” and to state accurate nicotine content.
So, the question for your Senators and Representatives is:“Why wouldn’t you pass these common-sense restrictions that will protect minors in all 50 states!”
Our industry works hard to prevent minors from accessing our products. Now, we need Congress to work as hard as you are!

I woke up to a terrific article this morning…
Vaping device cause of fire that sent hundreds of passengers, TSA agents running at Denver airport
Fire investigators say the device’s exposed lithium-ion battery likely made contact with conductive materials in the bag, causing the battery to create a “dead short.” The short caused the battery to heat up combustible materials within the bag, leading to the fire.
Please… EVERYONE!! Take battery safety seriously. It only takes one small mistake or moment of carelessness to affect the entire vaping industry.
DO NOT carry vaping device batteries unprotected!!
- Use a battery box.
- Use a silicone sleeve.
- Buy from a reputable company who provides these with your purchase.
It’s a very cheap investment to protect you, those around you, and the industry as a whole. Here are PLENTY of examples:
DON’T BE THE CAUSE OF MORE NEGATIVE PRESS FOR THE VAPING INDUSTRY!
EDUCATE YOURSELF AND THOSE AROUND YOU!
And to vape shops as well. Take the time to educate those buying batteries and devices!!

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Vapcell Purple 5-Leg Top 30A 3000mAh 20700…same as other 5-leg top contact 20700’s
This Vapcell is identical in appearance and performance to the other 5-“leg” top contact 3000mAh 20700’s that I have tested from Ampking, Efest, EBAT, Keeppower, EnerCig, and iJoy.
Vapcell clearly marks this cell with an accurate continuous current rating, which is fantastic and should be done by every company.
But, as the other 5-leg cells have done, this Vapcell is overrated in capacity. It delivered 2916mAh and 2929mAh for the two cells I tested. I am rating this cell at 30A and 2900mAh. This is very frustrating considering the accurate current rating. There’s just no need for this exaggerated capacity rating.
Two cells were purchased for the purposes of testing by me.

These tests only note the estimated ratings for these batteries at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” batteries or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.
Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of personal injury or property damage. They are not meant to be used outside of a protected battery pack. Never exceed the battery’s continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.
Any rating in the tables can change at any time as different grade cells appear on the market or we get swamped with fakes. Please, never assume that the ratings in the table are permanent and will never change! Always download the latest version before considering any cell purchase.

A step in the right direction?
Based on currently available evidence, using current generation e-cigarettes is less harmful than smoking cigarettes
These individuals should be encouraged to switch to the least harmful form of tobacco product possible; switching to the exclusive use of e-cigarettes is preferable to continuing to smoke combustible products.
Yeah, there’s some shitty stuff in there too, but let’s focus on the good for now.
