NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE VAPEDROID C1H2 – 7/20/16
I met the guy behind VapeDroid at the London event. Nice guy.
Here’s his new offering, the VapeDroid C1H2, designed in Germany and manufactured by S-Body in China. This one is going to be similar to the Vape-Forward Stout, but with a magnetic battery door holding a 26650 and no 18650 conversion tube.
It has a nice rubberized grip and is powered by S-Body electronics.
Here’s some additional information for you:
VapeDroid C1H2 is the first true crossover mod from the High-End scene to the mainstream market. It comes after years of development of the VapeDroid concept and designs using cutting edge technologies, German engineering and materials that were 100% unique to the VapeDroid brand, with market testing taking place in the highly critical high-end scene. All of this has been distilled into this latest product which embodies the design principles that made VapeDroid so beloved by its customer base, and is finally provided at an affordable price point thanks to my partners at S-Body who have worked with me to bring the price right down without compromising on design principles or quality of the end product. Previous mods which I made by hand sold at RRP’s up to €500, whereas this mod is under the $100 price point.
VapeDroid C1H2 is unique in being the only ‘singular design’ mod available. This means that every single component was designed as a proprietary part for this mod alone, including the chip whose board design and layout were developed specifically in tandem with the design specifications of the mod. As a modder who takes great pride in his work, I knew that attention to every detail would be the key to making my mod stand out, and I believe I’ve achieved that with the C1H2. Whereas previous mods were slightly compromised due to the need to design around 3rd party chips (evolv and YiHi), as well as other 3rd party components, this mod was made with zero compromises, ensuring a mod that lives up to its brief, with maximum efficiency in its use of space providing a class-leading mod in terms of compactness, ergonomics and usability.
If I could describe the VapeDroid design concept in one word, it would be UTILITARIAN. As a big fan of Star Wars, I set out to make a series of mods good enough for a Jedi… mods that are made to be used, not pampered. (Side note: Out of respect for Lucasfilm intellectual property, I will never use Star Wars related characters or other intellectual property, unlike other mods out there. Every element of the VapeDroid brand was designed from a blank sheet of paper and is 100% original)
In response to several difficulties that came up over the past few years using Evolv and YiHi chipsets, I decided to work in partnership to commission an original chipset for this mod. The HyperDrive chipset was designed to be reliable and accurate, with a simple and easy to navigate interface. Whilst lacking in advanced features such as upgradeable firmware, it makes up for it by increased reliability due to its simplicity, as well as covering the basics in terms of smooth power delivery and support for temperature control.
Details:
- Body: Zinc Alloy
- 510: Stainless Steel
- 510 Pin: Copper
- 510 Pin Threading: PEEK
- Switches: Stainless Steel
- Finish: Soft-touch rubberised finish
HyperDrive chipset:
- Cell Type Supported: High-rate 26650 cell with a minimum discharging current of 25A.
- Output Modes: Power (VW) / TC Ni / TC Ti / TC SS
- Output Wattage: 5-75W (in 0.1W increments)
- Resistance Range:
- Kanthal – 0.05-4 (0.1-0.6 full power, otherwise max 7.1V)
- Ni200 – 0.05-0.35
- Titanium – 0.1-0.8
- SS316 – 0.2-0.75
- Temperature Range: 100-300°C / 210-570°

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE ARYMI GILLE TANK – 7/20/16
The Arymi name has been around for some time. I remember receiving a mechanical device from them a while back that I never had a chance to look at. They have a new tank out called the Gille, but now it appears that Arymi is under the Kanger umbrella with a relationship similar to that of Joyetech and Eleaf.
This is going to be a DL only tank with no airflow control to restrict airflow. The coil is an interesting one. Called the EOCC, It’s designed so that you can either replace the entire thing or JUST the cotton. Also looks similar to a notch coil toward the top.
I measured the resistance of one of the coils and it came out to .24 ohms.
Here’s a video showing you the pieces and parts and some photos of the one I received:
A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Hohm Tech HohmGrown 32.3A 4307mAh 26650 Bench Test Results…a 23A battery, identical to Basen/Brillipower 4500mAh
Bottom Line: This is only a 23A cell that I am rating at 4300mAh. It is identical in appearance and performance to the Basen and Brillipower 4500mAh cells. It is damaged after just a single discharge at its 32.3A rating and the voltage at that discharge current level is very low. The Grown cell only delivers 181mAh down to 3.2V at its rated 32.3A.
Having said this, it is still one of the better performing 26650’s as it seems to use the same cell as the Basen and Brillipower 4500mAh cells. The 26650 ratings/performance table has been updated to include the Grown cell.
This testing has been part of a weeks-long series of events that have also involved Hohm Tech. I want to say that Hohm Tech strongly believes that their testing methods and ratings are valid and accurate and they stand firmly by them. They insist that the HohmGrown cell is an improvement over the cell that is used by Basen and Brillipower. I am unable to explain why I do not see that difference in my testing.

TASTE YOUR JUICE WELCOMES THE VAPING POST TO THE VAPING AND THR ADVOCACY AND ACTIVISM SECTION
I was reading a couple impressive articles on The Vaping Post the other day. I later found out that Ghyslain Armand is behind the site.
I met Ghyslain a couple years ago at a Paris expo and you met him about 5 months ago in one of my videos when he discussed the documentary “Beyond The Cloud” which I’m thrilled to be attending the premiere of in Paris…
The Video:
I’ve always been impressed by with Ghyslain and I’m equally impressed by this site which I’m happy to add. This is the first European site being added to the section. Welcome!!Here’s some additional information from Ghyslain…
The Vaping Post is a Geneva based company that produces international news about vaping. Initially, the website was only written in French, under the previous domain name Ma-cigarette.fr. We dropped that domain and decided to open our editorial flow to other languages with a special focus on English and gather all other languages under this new entity. We noticed there was a lot of information about vaping on the internet, but everything was split by countries. We noticed many times that many Americans didn’t know how the european Tobacco Product Directive (TPD) was getting implemented accros Europe, like many Europeans didn’t know what was going on with the FDA in USA. Even if countries have their own political specifications and culture, there are many overlapping themes around the globe when it comes to vaping, and we thought it could be interesting to cover that topic internationally.
Our goal is to bring our readers unbiased information about vaping from many angles such as politics, science, society, community and even some reviews. If most of us are vapers we don’t consider ourself as true advocates, we tend more to gather facts and give them a particular light by adding our own culture, vision and crossing different points of views. Like any news site, the Vaping Post relies on advertising revenues but I think it’s important to mention we’re not related to any trade sale, manufacture or distribution of vaping related products. We launched this online newspaper earlier this year and do our best to improve our content since then. If a publisher would like to support our work by advertising with us, he’s more than welcome to contact us. We definitely need financial help to keep informing people.

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: G-King 18650 graphene battery specs
There’s been some talk regarding the newly announced G-King graphene 18650 battery and I’ve been getting some questions about its capabilities. Here’s a video for it…
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/dongxu-graphene-battery-pack-15-minutes-recharge-news/
The most important thing to be aware of when watching this video and/or reading the press releases is that the 4800mAh battery they refer to and demonstrate is a battery pack, not an individual cell. The individual 18650’s used in the pack are rated at 1100mAh and 5.5A. You can see this in the video when they show several of the blue cells.
You can also see that these cells have a nominal voltage of 3.2V versus the 3.6V/3.7V nominal voltage of the cells we normally use when vaping. This means that they can’t be used in a regulated mod because it would very quickly signal weak battery due to the low voltage.
So while graphene batteries hold great promise for high-capacity, low to medium-amp batteries in the future the 18650 G-King 1100mAh, 5.5A battery isn’t a great choice for vaping with right now.
A BATTERY MOOCH POST: The Sony VTC6 is not rated at 30A!
I’m still testing this 3000mAh battery but wanted to address some misinformation going around. Just like the other Sony VTC batteries, the max continuous current ratings are being read incorrectly.
As you can see in the attached datasheet image the Continuous Maximum Discharge Current rating is 30A, but only if the battery temperature does not exceed 80°C! It is a temperature-limited rating and this is critical. This means that the 30A rating is only a maximum current level for short-term discharges and is not a true continuous rating.
Below the 30A Continuous Maximum Discharge Current rating in the datasheet you can see the true continuous rating, 15A.
I should have my tests done in a few days as I am also directly comparing the VTC6 against HG2’s and 30Q’s.
NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE JOYETECH ULTIMO TANK – 7/12/16
Joyetech has a new DL only tank coming your way… the Ultimo.
With this tank, they introduce their new “MG” series coil heads.
It comes with a Ceramic-0.5ohm head, Clapton-0.5ohm, and a QCS-0.25ohm head.
The QCS (Quick Change System) head allows you to change the cotton on it, so I guess it’s a bit of a “partial” RBA head. A full RBA head is also available for the tank.
The QCS head also has a notch coil with a massive diameter.
Here’s some more from Joyetech:
ULTIMO atomizer adopts new top filling system and improved adjustable airflow control. New MG series heads with novel designs especially provide great vaping experience, including which the innovative MG Ceramic-0.5ohm head with long-lasting lifespan brings you a pure flavor ever.
