The Post Review Follow-up:
- 8/14/14 – The rDNA has an 800mA USB charging circuit which is up from the 500mA on the DNA.
- 8/14/14 – The wireless receiver charges at the same speed as the USB cable (when it works 🙂 )
- 8/14/14 – The wireless charging base uses the wireless Qi standard. So if you have a base for your phone or other electronic device, it should work fine with the VaporShark wireless charging card.
- 8/14/14 – I mention that the channels on the top, channel the e-liquid away form the device, but they are more for airflow. This is me not thinking about that anymore as 99% of what I use now get air from themselves at this point! 🙂
- 8/22/14 -Yep, it was the wireless charging card that goes between the case and the device. Either DOA or broken by me during installation. I received a new card, installed it, and it’s working fine. I still say this connection needs to be beefed up a bit, or changed to an angled connector. Of course those issues will go away once the card is internal to all the units.

THE PROVARI P3 FIRST LOOK!
A PBusardo Video- The ProVari P3 – First Look
In this video we get a first look at the new ProVari P3 from ProVape. We get to see their “Sneak Peak” video, see the device from top to bottom, talk about some of the specification and features, and take a brief look at the menu.
Note, this is NOT a review video, only a first look. So no opinion, thumbs up, or thumbs down, will be given.
BTW – One spec not mentioned in the video is the amp limit of the device, since I know some of you will ask, it’s 5 amps.

THE IPV V2 50 WATT BOX MOD
A PBusardo Review – The iPV V2
In this video we take a full look at the iPV V2, a 50 watt box mod manufactured by Pioneer4You, utilizing the YiHi SX330 board.
Note, I’ve heard reports of units failing to the point smoke has come out of the vent ports and the plastic surrounding the internal boards have begun to melt. Not mentioned in the review as these issues were not experienced during the evaluation.
I’m also aware that JJ Vapes has issued a voluntary recall of the unit.

Post Review Follow-up:
- 8/6/14 – IMPORTANT: The manual states to NOT to vape it while it’s charging, yet the device allows you to do it. Therefore two more thumbs down. 1) because you can’t, 2) If you shouldn’t do it, it shouldn’t let you. IMHO.
- 8/7/14 – Someone asked how the device does if shorted while being fired. No issues there:
-  I even rolled the camera while I did the test in case anything interesting happened. 🙂
- It’s important to point out that the recall that has been mentioned out there is NOT from Pioneer4You, but rather a voluntary recall issued by JJ Vapes after a unit failed, smoked, and melted the internal plastic covering the board on them.
- Pioneer4You has requested the serial number off my unit. Not sure why they’re asking, but I’ll keep you all posted on what becomes of this. Yay, something else to chew up my time!
- Here are some additional photos of the packaging, and battery compartment showing the serial number (or at least most of it. It’s L0326.

The Post Review Follow-up:
- 7/15/2014 – I missed this concept in my thoughts when creating the video. With it in BYPASS mode, it will dump battery power to the load. So let’s say we’ve got a .2 Ohm load on a freshly charged battery and it fires it at 3.7 loaded (probably a little high), we get 68.45 watts which is higher than it’s highest 50 watt setting. Now BYPASS makes more sense. Sorry I missed that in the video, I kept looking at the .5 ohm load in the lazy box and didn’t consider it’s minimum .2 Ohm load specification.
- 7/15/2014 – The SX350 board does have connection points on it for up and down buttons in addition to the gravitational sensor.
- 7/17/2014 – The 510 connection is silver plated brass.

Post Review Follow-Up:
- 07/03/14 – I’ve heard through the grape vine that the reverse battery protection build into The Eye is hardware and not software based, thus the requirement for a nipple or button top battery, much like the ZNA.

- 7/23/14 – Switch Issue found in video 2 below. This is an unfortunate issue for me as I’ve been a fan of the Radix since I received it. However, it’s what I do, and if it’s happening to me, it could potentially happen to you. Hopefully this issue is limited to my own. If it’s not, perhaps Carbon Method can find a solution or a replacement switch. See the second video below.
- 8/6/14 – Radix responds to the switch issue. This makes me happy. Check out the beginning of video 3 below.

The Post Review Follow-Up:
- 5/31/14 – The “flakiness” identified in the software was caused by my use of this Windows setting which the eVic software does not play nice with. Joyetech has been notified and have already provided a fix. Thanks to pupdrummer for identifying this.
- 5/31/14 – Another thumbs down with the black one that I did not experience with the silver one. When scrolling through the menu, the selection does not always advance when the wheel hits the detent. At times, you have to go past the detent for the menu to go to the next selection. Quite annoying.
- 5/31/14 – I noticed the button on the black version is black. So not only does it feel like the USB cover, it looks like it too! Will the real fire button please stand up! 🙂
