I am 43 and was a smoker for over 25 year’s. I found your channel when I started vaping and it was so helpful and entertaining that I tell anyone about it when they need help. My girlfriend now watches you too and she has gone from smoking a pack per day to almost nothing. She still struggles when she gets stressed out and let’s ++it gets the best of her. She has been dealing with some serious medical issues for the past 2 years which we haven’t been able to find any medical solution for so it has been really tough so I can’t give her to hard a time when she gives in.
My 68 year old mother who was a smoker for over 50 years (she started back when she was just a teenager) had also been cigarette free since May 5th 2020. She uses the Blu ecig in tobacco flavor. I am so proud of her and I don’t care what she uses as long as it works for her. I have tried to give her some other alternatives but they all seem to make her have that cough reflex and the Blu ecig doesn’t. She enjoys your videos too. So you sir have done a lot for my family and loved ones when it comes to quitting smoking. I just wanted to say thank you.

Hi Phil,
I stumbled upon an old clip this morning of The China Syndrome and couldn’t help but draw similarities between the subject of the movie and vapers’ endless fight for the truth to be told.
Now, before you think the final marble has slipped from my head, bear with me.
Jack Godell (Jack Lemmon) knew the truth about the power plant and was hushed by the large corporation which owned it because…money. Hmm, there’s a surprise. When the power plant shows signs of possible devastating malfunctions, the character, Jack Godell, in an act of desperation, attempts to take over the control room to remedy the situation. In an effort to cover up/halt Godell leaking the problem, the SWAT teams are called in and he is fatally shot and therefore silenced.
With the media swarming outside the power plant, searching for answers (remember investigative journalism?)the corporate big shots are able to paint Jack Godell as a lunatic, until his best friend breaks down and spews the truth on live tv – that Jack was not a lunatic but an intelligent man who was trying to do the right thing. The character knew he would not be listened to.
The never ending lies swirling globally about vaping, the knowledge that the aim to destroy the industry is truly money driven, that politicians are interested only in re-election and the healthcare system isn’t about health – the fight to keep the industry alive seems insurmountable. Like David and Goliath.
I feel like Jack Godell.
My voice seems a mere whisper when compared to the power and voice our ignorant/criminal politicians, the ratings-focussed media and monied corporations hold.
When will we be heard?
Will we be heard?
Ever have a dream where you’re struggling to scream for help but nothing comes out? And you awaken because you hear your own voice squeaking desperately? That’s how I feel. I’m sure I’m not alone.
My hope is that vapers don’t end up like Jack Godell, a victim of corruption, an unheard voice. That at some point in the near future the science and our voices will be heard. Until then, I’ll get angry, stomp my feet (in the privacy of my home)and won’t back down. It’s exhausting and at times feels hopeless but I can’t give up the right to save my health.
After all, David beat Goliath.
I can assure you I’m not crazy, Phil, just mad 😉

I started vaping in early 2012, dropping a pack a day (at least) habit. Marb or camel menthol and a big ‘ol Burl Pipe was my thing back then.
I’ve heard over and over and over in the last few days more bullshit from people out in public about vaping than I’ve heard in the last couple years. I’m not afraid to correct them, I’m not afraid to use my words to prove them wrong. I do it on the daily.
In August 2011 my pulmonary function was ~10% normal adult function, I was in the process of getting approved for supplemental oxygen, getting tested for sleep Apnea and other medical conditions.
By the beginning of 2013 and one full year of using vapor products, I had recovered to ~95% lung function. Multiple tests were performed at the same hospital over that year. Peace health in Bellingham, WA.
My risk of heart attack and lung cancer are that of a non smoker. My COPD and Asthma are well controlled without the use of anything except a rescue inhaler once in a while. I’m not constantly sick now either.
I don’t want to hear ANYONE say that “vaping is bad for you, it’ll cause popcorn lung, that thing is gonna blow your face off, those things are worse for you than cigarettes“…. or some other Bullshit that has been posted about by media, pseudoscience idiots, fear mongers, uneducated public and those paid by big pharma.
Don’t get me wrong, there are risks involved, there’s risk in everything we do. You take risks walking, biking, running, even eating and drinking.
This also isn’t for everyone. It doesn’t work for everyone. If it works for you, great! If another stop smoking aid works for you, great!
I am living proof that vaping saves lives! I have met some of the greatest people on this planet by being an activist and a vaper.
