CHROME LAVA TUBE COMPARISON – L-RIDER VS. YOUNG JUNE
A PBusardo Review – In Depth Chrome Lava Tube Comparison
L-Rider Vs. Young June
Which one got to go fishing?

L-Rider – Kidney Puncher
Notes:
- There already appears to be a newer version of the L-Rider Chrome Lambo as the newer versions are supposed to be able to display the resistance of the attached device.
- The first photo in the gallery is courtesy of bizzyb0t. This is showing the paint/coating coming off the fire button of the Young June with use.
- Kidney Puncher does sell the Lambo by itself, and not part of the Punch Kit. They are also getting the new versions of the Lambo that shows the resistance (as well as some other new features). Hopefully they’ll be getting me one for review.
- My apologies to Andrew from CRYSTAL CLEAR VAPING for adding an “H” to his company name in the vid!
Post Review Follow-Up:
- I’ve had to do some post pulling with the Young June. I’d recommend they bring their center pin up just a bit on future revs.

NEW KIR FANIS PROVARI CARTO TANK – THE PRIVE & PRIVE-VARADERO
Well, I thought these were supposed to be hush hush for a few more weeks, but since Dimitris has blabbed, I will too 🙂
Beautiful new tanks to match your ProVari. I should have more details and one to review soon.
The Prive-Varadero (first photo) does not have the top feeding system. The Prive (second photo) does (you can see the tiny screw under the drip tip – think Trap tank). The third photo is his new Zantos drip tip.
I’ve also talked to Kir about another version of this tank that will have a recessed connection allowing it to fit over the ProVari slanted top cap (think Z-Atty Pro) giving it a more integrated look on the ProVari, hopefully we’ll be seeing that soon as well.
Avid will be carrying these once ready. You may also get them at GR-Modders.
WAY TO GO KIR!!
PRIMO!
So I’m dripping some random liquids today from my stash and I came across one that I thought I’d write about prior to the review. PRIMO from All About Vapor.
This is a nice liquid! It’s a cross between a tobacco and dessert vape. It’s got a nice tobacco flavor with a creamy vanilla note. I’m also getting a very distinct “toasted nut” flavor from this one. Not too sweet by any means.
It’s labelled 16mg which is a little high for me and I can really feel it. May need to try their 11mg as they don’t offer a 12mg.
Vaping it on the ProVari set at 3.7 with a Stingray atomizer.
I have another one of their liquids and I’m excited to try it now.

SLAP YO MAMA IN LAW
Looks like my beloved Slap Yo Mama tank filler tool from Big Daddy Vapor has been duplicated, made less expensive, and is beginning to make it’s rounds.
I found it here at Avid: Cartomizer Tank Filler Adapter
Big Daddy Vapor has a cheaper Delrin version as well. Delrin Slap Yo’ Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter
SMOKTECH VIVI REBUILDABLE – FIRST REBUILD
Ok, so I did a quick rebuild on this to see how it would work using the same materials I use to build my Odysseus coils.
- Wick from Clouds Of Vapor
- Resistance wire is Kanthal A-1 32 awg
It’s better than the pre-installed coil, but still not something I’d enjoy vaping. The wicks, as I expected, are simply not keeping up.
I have been able to get some decent vapes off of it and have experienced some TH now. If I let it sit and rest between vapes, I can one or two decent hits before it gets weak. Chain vaping is impossible.
Rebuilding it wasn’t too bad. Although the Odysseus is more complicated, I felt it was also an easier build. It’s close quarters in the Vivi for sure.
Comments:
- Be careful when you remove the assembly from the tank. The shaft could separate like it did on me. You could then potentially rip out the leads. See photos.
- When you unscrew the larger mount, it may separate from the body. If you hold the terminal, only the screw will come out. See photos.
- Getting the wick in the pre-drilled holes wasn’t bad at all. Just wet the tip and tighten it up a bit.
- I wound up with a coil of 1.7 Ohms. See photos.
Here is a gallery that shows some photos I took along the way. If you click the upper right ‘I’ you’ll see some notes.
Next step… out comes the drill and mesh 🙂
From Vap1nge3k
Hey phil! I have been an avid fan of watching your reviews. I just wanted
to share to you my experience and success story. I started smoking when I was 13.
First I thought it was cool, like yeah im smoking, i must be badass and all that
bullcrap that it does. Way back then, I was just a 1 stick a day dude. My smoking
came to what they call “golden gate” (or what my friends call it) when I went to
college. Dealing with stress and the like, it just started to get out of hand. I was
17 back then and i started to smoke a pack a day.I noticed my fingers get all yellow, back then I didnt even care. I know you’re
wondering, how did he get to buy cigs at a a young age? Well, i was in the
philippines and even a 6 year old can buy a stick. Yes phil you heard me, a “stick.”
you can buy singles there. I have tried everything to quit smoking. Cold turkey,
didn’t work for me. I tried chewing gum ang buying candies every time i felt like
it, but every time i fell back and using analogs again.I managed to quit smoking for about 6 months then a personal problem came up and
immediately I was back. Stronger than before. I have tried a LOT of cigs since then. Then I came here to the us last december and saw these things that you can buy at a
gas station or at a walmart. There were those “pen style” cigs that you could buy. I
thought what the heck, I sure want to quit, so I went ahead and bought one. My first
vaping experience was dissappointing. It didnt give the amount of vapor that I was
so used to. So went back to using the analog sticks again. (as grimmgreen said in
one of his vids, you got your foot in the door.)Being an addict in you tube I saw one of your vids. (provari review) and I was like,
WTH is this? So i watched it. So i grabbed my popcorn and watched it, still smoking
analogs back then. I was SHOCKED by the amount of vapor that it produced so I did my
research on it. Its not really what you call a beginning vapers kit. But I was just
amazed so I went ahead and bought one myself. At first I was cheating a lil bit, smoking the analog while using it (watched the
pink spot vapor review) and got those too as a starter.I put down my last analog on july 13 2012 and im not even on thinking to go back to
those awful things. The first week I was ‘literally’ coughing spewing nasty things.
Then I started to breathe more better. My nose wasnt clogged, i wake up nicely, I
dont get cranky. In the morning I usually grab my pack and go outside. Now, I just puff a few on my
provari and im good to go.Im on 12nics right now ans i am gonna go down in a few months or so.
I just wanted to thank you phil, because if you didnt make that vid, i will still be
smoking.Btw, im 25 and I have been smoking for 12 years now. I can finally say that i am not
a smoker anymore.Best regards,
Vap1nge3k
From Tyler
Hey Phil, just wanted to write a bit of a thank you note. Three months ago
I reconnected with an old friend, Dimitris. He tells me he quit smoking thanks to
e-cigs. I gotta admit I just kind of laughed it off, I only ever saw the little
bullshit ones at gas stations. Soon after he showed me some videos, and I realized
this would potentially get me off of analogs. Well it’s been two months and three
days now, and I haven’t even had an urge for a cigarette. Initially I started with
an ego passthru, some clearomizers, and a few 6ml liquids the good ol’ greek sent.
Almost immediately though, I wanted to get more into it. I started researching as
much as I could, to this day I’m still looking for an all day vape and still trying
to figure out exactly what I want to use in terms of atties/cartos/clearos. However
man, thanks to you and Dimitris, I no longer smoke and I have a pretty damn good
idea of what I’m looking for.TL:DR – Thanks for doing what you do. You and Dimitris, along with the vaping
community out here in California, have improved my quality of life and not to
mention my bank account. Keep it up and I’m looking forward to seeing more reviews
from you.
SMOKTECH VIVI REBUILDABLE TANK – FIRST LOOK
A PBusardo Review – Smoktech Vivi Rebuildable Tank
Vendor Link:
Smoktech
UPDATE:
Even at 3.7 (see below), one or two vapes in and it’s dry and scratchy using the pre-installed coil. And those one or two on the way to the dry scratchy hits are not fully saturated, satisfying, nor do they have any hint of a throat hit. Next step, rebuild it. It is, after all, a rebuildable.
I think Smoktech would have been further along selling you the blank platform to experiment with for yourself. Maybe don’t even put the wick holes in, but allow the user to create their own wick holes, OR offer a version with two holes for a silica type wick or a single hole for a genesis/mesh type wick, because out of the box, using the pre-installed coil, it’s a complete fail, at least for me.
NOTE:
Some comments have been made that I pushed too many volts to this in the vid. I’m going to give it another shot with less volts, but my fear is that it did not produce any TH at 4.1V… so I could only assume less volts would result in a very unsatisfying vape. I’ll post the results here. (see above)
