CHANGES FROM KANGER??
Received an interesting mail from Kanger today…
dear PBusardo:
Thank you , kanger have change the technology, so I think have not plastic tast for t3 now.
And before you poke fun at their English, at least they try. I sure as hell can’t speak Chinese.
So sounds like they may know about the problem and have implemented some kind of solution. I’m trying to find out more.
From Steve
Phil,
Just wanted to drop you a “Thanks” for your site & videos. I am 55 and have been
smoking since … well, I really can’t remember, I think I was 6 when my older
brothers first included me in smoking on the side of the house! 🙂 I smoked about 2
packs/day and tried everything to quit – Patches – Couldn’t keep them lit!, gum –
Yuck, cold turkey – AHHHHH, Chantix – nausea, that’s a good incentive! Oh yea, then
an original e-cig about 3 years ago that was terrible, and they got my credit card
and starting shipping refills – WTF!A few weeks ago I started trolling e-cig sites and ran into a few of your YouTube
videos – Ok, maybe 20+ of them! Armed with “some” knowledge, Two weeks ago I
dropped by a local e-cig shop and bought a EGo twist, a Vivi Nova Mini (I have no
idea what version!) and some horrible juice. I have found a few juices I like fairly
well, but still searching for nirvana.Over the past 2 weeks I have smoked maybe a pack of cigs total, and today was my
first day with NONE! … and I am actually happy! 🙂 AND going broke buying e-cig
stuff, but saving a butt load not buying cigarettes. From your reviews I upgraded to a ProVari and a Vivi Nova 2.5 – I am VERY pleased
with this setup. I prefer the 1.8 ohm at about 4.5-4.8 volts, tried the 2.4 & 2.8
but can’t get the same taste.Anyway – thanks for your contributions and your help!
My next challenge is converting my Wife – any suggestions?

THE “GENESIS EPIPHANY”
THE EVIC FIRMWARE V1.2 (BETA)
I’ve installed the firmware and have started playing with it.
I’m very impressed with this latest firmware and what they’re able to do with the device. I would have never guessed that MVR VV & VW would have been possible through firmware. In this case, I love that I was wrong.
- Getting out of the menus is easier.
- There is better information on the front screen (user selectable).
- You can have a 24 or 12 hour clock.
- You can set it for either Celsius OR Fahrenheit.
- You can set it to NOT TURN OFF (YAY!).
- Those of you with lazy fingers will enjoy AUTO mode allowing you to press and release the fire button while the device fires for a user specified period of time.
- Multiple user configurations are now available.
- Best of all it now says…
NO ATOMIZER FOUND!!! 🙂
Looks like the programmers have been busy for this update!
The software UI (User Interface) needs work, but I’m sure they’re on it.
The 3 MVR-VV settings for the different carto/atty resistance ranges caught my eye. Good thinking!
It still only peaks out at 11 Watts or 5 Volts (which ever comes first) but that should be plenty of power for most vapers.
IMHO this is the first firmware revision since it’s release where the device is showing it’s true potential.
Those of you who had faith in this device and have stuck by it’s side, pat yourselves on the back. You deserve it. You now have the very first device to do true variable voltage and variable wattage over time, and LOTS of settings to play with. It’s almost like getting a brandy new device and not have to pay for it.
Looks like that BUH-IN award was well deserved.
I took a quick look at it’s MVR VV mode. Below you’ll see the settings from the software and the results on the scope firing a 3.0 Ohm carto. Works as advertised. Impressive.
Before you ask me why the signal goes a little screwy at 4.2 volts, I’ll let you know my answer now… I don’t know!
Congrats Joyetech & the developers. Thumbs Up! Very nice.
JUST WHEN I THOUGHT…
Well, I THOUGHT I was catching up with the Review Queue, but some new items came in including:

Have a GREAT Super Bowl Weekend everyone!

Dear Mr. Busardo,
My name is Eddie G. and as the new year rolled in I wanted to start 2013 with the
resolution to stop smoking. I didn’t know where to begin or look, so I made a quick
google search and found your videos. In the first two days of research, I had
watched about 20 of your videos, went on this website, and took your
recommendations. Not only were you very informative, but also very enjoyable. As I took your advice and started my new hobby, I have been analog-free for a couple
weeks, now am starting to convert friends and families. Guess where I direct them
to? That’s right, your videos. They all agree that you do an excellent job describing the equipment and juices.
If I have an urge for a cigarette, I just watch one of your videos and read the
disclaimer in the beginning telling me to try anything to stay off the bad stuff. I
just wanted to take some time and show you my appreciation for helping me learn more
about vaping. You are doing a great service and I hope you keep up the great work for years to come.
From a new lifelong fan, Eddie
