From Diana

Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your videos on YouTube. They
have been so informative that you’ve saved me from making a lot of costly mistakes.
For example: carto tanks!! I almost threw them all away and switch back to Protanks,
because I thought they were all leaking . I got the X8 carto tanks and every time I
tried to fill them through the fill hole, the carto would flood and I didn’t know
why (I threw away about 8 Boge cartos unnecessarily because of this). Then I saw
your video on how you have to bring down the carto enough to let air pressure
escape. Now I’m vaping exclusively with X8 tanks and I absolutely love them. The
flavor is more intense and the vapor is incredible. I use them on my Vamo and ZMax.
Thanks so much!!! You are a valuable resource for all of us!!!

THE FUTURA – GOOD NEWS!

Good news! Looks like the boys from NexGenVapor are back on track and have worked out the kinks with the Futura and are shipping again. My production unit has arrived and it will be next up for review.

Bad news is that, at this point, it will need to wait until I get back from vacation.

The good new again? I have vaped it and it works. 🙂

Why the radio silence? According to them, they’ve been living at the shop trying to get things back on track. And yes, I agree, a post on their website telling everyone what was going on and not to panic would have been nice.

I did get some photos of it for you below. I’m really digging the new top cap.

It’s shown with a Kayfun Lite sitting atop it. The pin is now adjustable via an allen key.

From Howie

Once again I just wanted to say thanks. I have no doubt that there are
plenty of people out there that say to themselves the same thing I say after
listening to most of your comments which is ” He took the words right out of my
mouth” You wrote a comment not too long ago regarding folks that at times have this
elitist attitude regarding the devices they use and at times make other folks feel
that the devices they use do not measure up. You always bring it back home when you
remind everyone that the reason we are all doing this was / is to not smoke tobacco
products, Just like with your next steps comment it always comes back to are you
satisfied enough so you won’t light up that cigarette or pipe or cigar. I think most
smokers are by nature dealing with some level of addictive type personalities and
some people are always going to have next steps. Call it device envy, All I know
is listening to you helps me remind myself that it is ALWAYS about NOT SMOKING
anylonger. Yes I do wonder am i experiencing the best vaping experience I can, Do I
need a provari, do I need to get a top of the line dripping atomiizer, Or that $20
glass tank etc etc and then you remind us about the important thing,NO SMOKING. SO
Thank You Phil for your wisdom and your passion in your desire to help and guide and
remind us. I remain extremely happy with my MVP and my Halo VV with my HALO Tanks,
my one mini pro Kanger and my mini nova aspire. I will say I continue to enjoy
vaping and I remain satisfied. What remains an issue for me is finding liquid
manufacturers with flavors I really like. I tried a few different places in the
beginning but because of my limited financial situation I always go back to Mt Baker
vaper because their prices even their shipping prices as far as I can tell can’t be
beat. Anyway I really just wanted to say I am still here, I am still listening and
reading your thoughts on your site and I am still extremely thankful that you are
out there and I get the chance to say ” He took the words right out of my mouth”
Thanks Phil for everything you did for me and continue to do for me by just being
yourself. I do wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. Howie

From Justin

Phil…
I know you get a lot of emails, so I’ll just let you know – This is just a
gracious thank you from a ex-smoker. You don’t need to read this all, I just
thought you may want some ego stroking.

I really must thank you for recommending the Smoktech RSST. I’ve been
struggling to find an atomizer that made electronic cigarettes less of a
challenge. The trouble with switching from analog cigarettes is that they are
much more convenient (All you need is a pack and a lighter). Any time I had
device issues, it seemed easier to pick up a pack in the mean time. This made
switching more difficult for me.

Before using the RSST I used the Vivi Nova for over 6 months (also picked from
your recommendation) – A great device, but it had a few drawbacks that added to
my frustrations. I’ve tried some lower end Genesis style atomizers in the past
(I have been waiting for a quality affordable genesis since Zen released his),
but never got one to work well enough to use constantly. That changed with the
RSST. I got mine a month and a half ago, and it worked the first time without
issue. I am still using the same wick and coil today – months later, with only
the occasional dry burn to clean off the buildup. I do not get dry hits at all,
and the only issue I have is that the coil gets too hot on a freshly charged
battery (which I correct by just pulsing for the first 30 mins of usage).

I cannot thank you enough for weeding through all the junk and giving all of us
honest and enjoyable video reviews. Your site is the first place I send people
when they ask me about electronic cigarettes.

Please don’t stop your work in our community. I just gave a speech on e-cigarettes, and was surprised how much bad information is spreading. One person told me that he heard the #1 cause of emphysema today is due to e-cigarettes. I don’t know where these statistics are coming from.

You are an invaluable member of this community…

Thanks for making my life that much easier!

THE KAYFUN REPLICA

People have been asking me about the Kayfun Replica available from FastTech.  Mine finally arrived.  It took 36 days from order to house.  I’ve heard from others that their orders were cancelled after an even longer wait.

Here are my initial impressions.  Note is has not been built or vaped yet.

  • Price: $21.37
  • The plastic tank came misthreaded onto the metal part giving it an interesting crooked look.  I was able to, with a fair amount of difficulty, get it to thread correctly.  Hopefully it won’t leak.
  • It had some “chunks” of something in the collector tank.
  • The build quality and machining isn’t as good as a real Kayfun.
  • The mouth piece isn’t as rounded as the Kayfun.
  • Appears to have some burs in the air flow controller.
  • I don’t have a Kayfun 3.1 to compare it to, so you’ll see it on the left with a real Kayfun Lite+ on the right in the photos below.
  • The parts are interchangeable.
  • The FastTech receipt not specifically saying “clone” or “replica” makes me cranky.

V3TRONIX V3 .50 CAL MOD – VERSION 2

A PBusardo Review – V3 50 Cal from V3Tronix Version 2

In this video we take a look at the Version 2 of the V3Tronix .50 Cal mod. This one really bums me out. A small fix or addition part would change this to a very strong thumbs up.

The Post Review Follow-Up::
11/24/13 – I’ve already been contacted by the manufacturer. Apparently I’m using the V2 “Batch 1” spacers and pins. According to them, the V2 “Batch 2” spacers and pins have been re-engineered to remove the battery rattle and connectivity issues. They’re sending me the new parts to have a look at. I’ll post a follow-up video as soon as I have them. More work for me, shame shame on them!!
