IMPORTANT!! Ask your federal representative and senator to change the grandfather date for new tobacco products

I personally don’t want to go back to the days of blue foam and Lipton Pyramid Tea Bags, and although I have the gear to prevent that from happening, it’s the new vapers I’m most concerned about. Those looking to come into the light and rid themselves of combustible tobacco cigarettes. Let’s keep the current level of consistency, convenience, quality, and safety around for them. Please feel free to share.

From CASAA:

Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, Rep. John Boehner (House Speaker), Rep. Kevin McCarthy (House Majority Leader), and Rep. Fred Upton (Chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Committee) cosigned a letter to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Sylvia Burwell. In this letter they asked the FDA to consider changing the February 15, 2007 grandfather date for newly deemed tobacco products. They go on to suggest that the grandfather date be moved — perhaps to April 25, 2014, the day that FDA’s proposed regulations were submitted, or to the future date when the regulations are finalized.

Please take action now by telling your representative and senator that you support changing the grandfather date and, in fact, that the proposed tobacco regulations are inappropriate for e-cigarettes.

YOU EAT (VAPE) WITH YOUR EYES…

… and no one knows that better than Five Pawns.

They continue to impress me with their marketing, product presentations, and descriptions, and their newest flavor, “Black Flag Fallen” is no exception. I haven’t even tried it yet, and sure it could just be another coffee e-liquid, but after seeing their promo video, opening up the package, reading the description, and experiencing the aromas, my mouth is watering.

Decaf double espresso infused with black truffle cream.

This decadent, bold, yet multi-layered liquid is almost more reminiscent of an espresso based desert than your traditional tiny cup of Italian coffee. The finest quality espresso beans allow for a multitude of subtle flavor notes.

This blend is produced in limited quantity and left to mature in our polished stainless steel barrels so there is zero light infiltration or ingredient degradation. The liquid is left untouched so that individual flavor components can fully develop and harmonize for an even smoother and more consistent result. When the liquid is extracted from the barrel it’s bottled with a single decaffeinated coffee bean.

Really looking forward to cleaning out the K4 and giving this a go.

From David

Dear Phil,

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the work you put into reviewing and
getting useful information out there. I was persuaded to try an e0cig by a friend a
few months back now, and made the switch in a heartbeat – there’ve been three
cigarettes since then, each nastier than the one before it – and I don’t see myself
going back to the things unless they regulate us out of existence.

While my vaping journey has been a short one up to now, it’s been helped enormously
by your efforts. I’ve got the devices that suit me and do what I need them to do,
and that’s in no small part because you’ve been willing to put in the time and
effort that helped me make informed choices.

So yes, thank you for what you do. I hope you have a splendid Christmas and wish you
every success in 2015. Oh, and hope you’ll be reading my name out as the Stocking
winner.

Best wishes,
David

MY THOUGHTS FOR 2015…

I was asked to do a little writing for the Ashtray-Blog on my thoughts for vaping in 2015, much like the previous 2 years (wow how time flies). You can see all of the thoughts/predictions from others in the industry HERE.

Here’s what I had to say…

The Battle! The battle will continue in 2015. Bans, regulations, taxes, and all the other nonsense we’ve grown accustom to. Although we’ve grown accustomed to it, we can’t overlook it. It’s not the boy who cried wolf. This WILL affect us all eventually and we need to remain involved and continue to fight for our rights as vapers. I’d very much like to see a more coordinated effort and perhaps a “joining of forces” between the different groups currently available. Will vaping go away? At this point, I don’t think so. But how we choose to vape is constantly in jeopardy.

Research! We’re going to see a lot more research being done on what we do and how we do things. Temperatures, liquids, wires, wicking materials will all continue to be tested and looked at. This can only benefits us as vapers, giving us the information we need to make better informed decisions on how we vape should we chose to use the information provided.

Drama! I think the line between how vapers vape will continue to grow and I feel very disheartened by this. What we vape and how we vape it should not be important. The fact that we do vape should be paramount. We are all vapers.

Temperature! I firmly believe 2015 will be the year of temperature control. Different systems, boards, and devices that allow us to regulate, control, and limit our vape via temperature. I believe the DNA-40 is only the beginning.

Box & Regulated Mods! I think we’re going to see the decline in the popularity of tube and mechanical mods, but certainly not the death of them. They will always have their place and fans. I think the tube mod is a natural progression due to the shape of a cigarette and a battery, but in a personal vaporizer, I think the box mod just makes more sense. Onboard chargers and the ability to easily change batteries only add to their appeal.

Clearomizers! The vape quality and consistency of the clearomizer continues to improve vastly over where we began. I think we will see the first replaceable head clearomizer that rivals the vape quality of the Kayfun in 2015.

No Wick, No Wire, This IS a Game Changers! Ok, look, I’m going to continue to predict this until it comes true.

Wattage! China will make the “Legal Vape 4000” a reality.

Pink! Dimitris’ love affair with the color pink will continue to grow and flourish.

Happy Vaping everyone and I wish you nothing but the best for 2015! THANK YOU!

From Erik

I just wanted to say Thanks for all the great info. I have had a difficult
time finding help switching to vaping locally so the internet has served me well. I
am switching to vaping after many many years of chewing tobacco. Most of the
resources out there is geared for smokers to make the change so this has been a
difficult transition so far. The videos and suggestions you have made have been
great so once again. Thanks for all the help.

SUBTANK ON THE HANA AND VAPORSHARK RDNA

For those of you who have asked, I’ve added the following photos to the SubTank Gallery showing it on both the Hana Mod and the Vapor Shark rDNA. Not that it will not fire on the Hana without the 22mm to 25mm adapter due to the 22mm recess on the Hana.

Happy Vaping Everyone!
