From Jamie

Hi Phil, Just a quick message to say thanks for the great reviews you do. Thanks to you and your excellent advice I have quit smoking after 30 years and bought an MVP 3.0 and a Kanger subtank plus It’s performing better than I ever expected and I just made another milestone today. I built my first coil from scratch at 0.7 ohms and its also been 5 weeks today without a cigarette Thanks again for inspiring me to quit. I’m converting all my friends too now and also pointing them to your channel. P.S. Happy belated birthday from sunny England

TO MY FRIENDS AT ASPIRE!! THANK YOU!

To Tony, Kiki, and the rest of my friends at Aspire.  Thank you so much for the friendship tree.  I’m honored that you would think of me for this.  I just wished I could have been there to help you plant it.

Actually, I would have had Dimitris dig the hole.  I would have just directed him where to dig it!  🙂

Thanks so much!!

NEW IN THE QUEUE – 4/24/15 – THE VAPER FUSION BY PETAR KOREN

THE VAPER FUSION BY PETAR KOREN

Anyone remember the Petar K method for creating genny builds?  Well, he has a mod.  This is a sexy little piece and very well well machined.  It’s a single coil Genesis, a dual coil Genesis, a dripper, and a hybrid all wrapped into one and is made in Croatia.

I’ll be honest folks, this one looks like a pain in the ass to build and to clean and comes with a frightening array of parts.

THE VAPER Fusion is a real hybrid which fuses dripper & genesis style atomizers into one APV, in single or dual coil mod.
TV Fusion has many new and mostly unique features, and every component in it is customizable or has multiply functionality.
In dripper mod, tank section can be removed…
MP can be slided in or out for chamber size reduction and air flow direction control.
In single coil genesis mod, the other wick hole can be used for wicking adjustment.
TV Fusion fits any type and size of IMR or ICR 18xxx battery, and any kick (with small tolerances).
The magnetic switch can work in two different mods – “regular” or “klick” mod;
The switch sensitivity and throw can be adjusted in both mods…

NEW IN THE QUEUE – 4/24/15 – THE CTHULHU RTA

THE CTHULHU RTA

It may be worth tuning into this review just to hear me try to pronounce it.  I promise, I won’t look it up until I attempt it in the review.

This one looks like a Goblin but features a top fill design.  Let’s see if it can pull it off without flooding or leaking.

Heads up… this one came in REEKING of machining oil.

  • Medical grade stainless steel
  • 4ml capacity
  • Adjustable airflow
  • Top fill design or use bottom port
  • Dual 3mm air holes and 2.5mm liquid channels
  • Copper pin
  • Two piece chimney
  • Pyrex tank section

NEW IN THE QUEUE – 4/24/15 – THE HCIGAR HB40

THE HCIGAR HB40

A very interesting piece.  An original design containing an authentic DNA-40 board from a company known for replicas.  I’d like to see more of this from them.

Feels and looks pretty good.  Some people may not like the button placement.  Works great for the thumb, not so great for those who like to trigger.

Nice solid magnetic battery door on this one makes replacing the battery easy, or use the micro USB charge port on the side.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – 4/24/15 – THE SMOK XPRO M65 & XPRO M80 Plus

THE SMOK XPRO M65 & XPRO M80 Plus

Thanks to Jamie from the New England Vaping Company for the M65.

The XPRO M65 (replaces the M50) & XPRO M80 Plus are available from SmokTech.

For the M65, I’ll repeat what I said for the M50…

This is a handsome box and feels pretty solid, but I believe they totally missed the mark on battery insertion and replacement. You’re going to need to use the included (or your own) allen key to take off the bottom (4 screws) and insert the battery which fits very snugly making it difficult to remove.

Now sure it has a micro USB charge port and you probably won’t have to change the battery often, but believe me, the first time you’re out and about, run out of power, and you or your friend has a spare battery and you don’t want to wait for it to charge, you will be cursing this design.

The “reset” port/button concerns the crap out of me. Why would that be needed? Hmmmm.

She’ll fire up to 65 watts and down to a .2 ohm. Note that I haven’t run the numbers yet.

The M80 (light fuse and get away) Pro is similar but larger and has a built in 4400 mAh power source and features temperature control.

  • Available in grey, black, gold, and silver
  • Wattage, temp and mech settings
  • Spring loaded pin
  • USB charge port on bottom
  • 80 watt output down to .1 Ohm in wattage
  • 200-900 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Puff counter/limit, time and date settings
  • Vape while charging
  • Aluminum and zinc alloy body

NEW IN THE QUEUE – 4/24/15 – THE INVADER MINI BY HEATVAPE

THE INVADER MINI BY HEATVAPE

So I received the E-LVT Mini from Dovpo and put it in the queue.  I was then contacted by Heatvape telling me it’s a copy of their design and I shouldn’t look at it.   So I removed it and replaced it with this.  FML.  🙂

Heatvape Invader Mini is water resistant, dust resistant, shock proof, power up to 50w and has temperature control function!

The Invader Mini is a power regulated digital switch-MODE DC-DC converter controlled personal vaporizer. It has a small .69” diagonal OLED screen. The Invader Mini will automatically detect whether a temperature sensing or standard coil is attached. It supports reverse protection for input terminal and synchronous adjust for voltage output.

Specifications:

Waterproof Level: IPX4

Dimension: 31.5*39.5*102mm

Materials (eco-friendly): Zinc Alloy + Silicon + Brass

Output Power: 1W-50W

Output Voltage: 1V-9.9V

Ohm Limit: 0.1-1.0 Ohm in TC Mode, 0.16-2.0 Ohm in normal Mode

I will say the same thing about this that I said about the E-LVT…

It’s supposed to be water proof, shock proof, and pressure resistant.  Unfortunately, with “water proof” comes no venting.  (I’ve checked).  Not sure if there’s some kind of pressure relief on it in the event a battery vents, so I’ll have to ask (again).

I asked.  They responded:

-Is there any kind of pressure relief in the event the battery vents?
There are actually three venting holes, covered by 3 buttons, Minus/Plus Button and fire button, the rubber skin would be easily broken out in case of battery vents.
