Hey Phil, greetings from sunny San Diego! I just wanted to thank you again
for all you do keeping the masses informed and entertaining us all. Oh yeah, and to brag a little! Two years tobacco Free! as of today May 4th! the second year seemed to go by faster than the first. I love the fact that I can wake up every morning and take those deep breathes.Loving the fact I can go hiking again with out feeling like my chest was gonna pop, and actually know how it feels to run out of breath from activity not just sitting there sucking down death in stick form. Thanks again for taking the time to read this and inform the public. We need more phil in the cart!

NEW IN THE QUEUE – 5/1/15 – THE IPV4 BY PIONEER4YOU
As you’ve probably noticed items are being added to the queue a lot faster than they’re making it out and with the summer upon us, the queue is pretty much shut down until I can catch up or potentially return some product that you have little interest in. From this point on, it’s gotta be pretty “vape-shattering” to make it in.
Folks, I live in Rochester, NY. We get about 3 solid months of summer, and of those 3 months, about 10 sunny days. 🙂
So anyway… here it is, the IPV4. This one features temp control and I was a bit surprised to see joules until I realized it’s powered by the Yihi SX-330 V4S board.
In wattage mode it will fire up to 100 watts and down to .1 ohm. In joules (temp) mode it’s down to .12 ohm which I also found a little surprising and somewhat disappointing. I found the .065 ohm recommended resistance of the SX-350J much more reasonable to deal with when it comes to NI200. I saw that .12 ohm spec on the Eciggity site, but the good news it that I was able to fire a .07 ohm NI200 build without issue, so perhaps the spec is incorrect or outdated at this point.
It uses two 18650 batteries and has a magnetic cover. Oh… and by the way… it’s pretty darn big!
A few things concern me with this piece. First of all don’t be fooled by the photos you’ll see below. The screen is dim, I mean REALLY dim on the one I have. I’ve never seen a screen this dim indoors. I had to crouch under a counter to see it when I was doing the resistance lock. I guarantee you it will be virtually impossible to see in bright sun light.
Second, I’ve seen this device being advertised with USB charging. The device does have a micro USB port on the bottom and comes with a micro USB cable, however, I can’t get it to charge from this port. I do get a computer connection sound as the firmware is user upgradable. I’m looking into this.
Third, I do see, what I believe to be, a 9V charge port on the front under the 510 connection. I went to the P4U website and they’re calling it a “3.5mm Cyclo charging port”. Note that no cable was provided for this port. I know a similar port on the IPV3 was deemed dangerous. As a matter of fact, the V1 of the IPV3 had the port, the V2 plugged the port, and the V3 removed the port entirely. If we have the same thing happening here, and I’m not saying it is, it’s an instant thumbs down from my perspective. But that’s not going to stop folks from picking this up, so let’s find out more about that port before using it. I’m looking into this as well.
I’ll add to this post as I find out additional information.
Happy weekend everyone!

SOMETHING INTERESTING FROM FIVE PAWNS…
Just found out about something interesting coming our way from Five Pawns… an alternative to PG that’s NOT VG. Hmmm.
Thanks for the heads up Jason!
The new line is a 50/50 blend of vegetable glycerin (VG) and propanediol (PD), an all-natural alternative to PG, which is naturally derived from cornstarch fermented with corn sugar. PD has approval from EcoCert™ (an internationally recognized natural and organic seal) and the Natural Product Association (U.S.‐based natural personal care certification), and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), as well as certified and verified s-GRAS, USDA 100 percent bio‐based, USP‐FCC, Kosher, Halal, and FEMA GRAS. PD offers a natural, non‐irritating alternative to PG.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE MVP 3.0 PRO & THE COOLFIRE IV BY INNOKIN
I received two new product offerings from Innokin. The new Coolfire IV and the MVP 3.0 Pro.
I personally love the look, finish, and quality of the new Coolfire. I think they hit it out of the park with this design. It’s only slightly larger than the iStick 30 and supposedly has the same battery cell. Just wished the fire button was on the slant rather than the flat section of the control surface. It would make firing it a more comfortable and ergonomic experience. She’s a 40 watt device capable of firing down to a .2 Ohm (.3 recommended) load.
CF IV Specifications:
- Available middle of May
- Estimated MSRP $42
- Operating Voltage: 3.0V-7.5V
- Operating Wattage: 6.0W-40W
- Battery: 2000mAh . ( internal high drain polymer Li-Ion rechargeable 18650 size battery, perfer declare the accurate mAh instead of 2200mAh )
- Standby current: 100uA max
- Maximum output Wattage: 40W
- Maximum output Current: 12A
- Maximum output Voltage: 7.5V
- Clearomizer Resistance: 0.3 Ohm (minimum)
- Charging: Micro USB DC5V/1A
The MVP 3.0 Pro, I’m not so sure about. Why? I think there are those people who like you to know they’re using something different than you, or they have more watts than you. With the MVP 3.0 Pro, it’s very difficult to tell it apart from the MVP 3.0 without looking at the logo on the side. Still a rock solid piece with a huge battery, 60 watts of power, .2 Ohm capability, & power bank capability, but I think they needed to change the look a bit from the MVP 3.0.
MVP Pro Specifications:
- Ready for the Innokin authorized vendors early of May
- Operating Voltage: 3.0V-9V
- Operating Wattage: 6.0W-60W
- Battery : 3.7V 4500mAH (16.65WH)
- Maximum output Current: 17.5A
- Maximum output Voltage: 9V
- Clearomizer Resistance: 0.2 Ohm (minimum)
- Charging: Micro USB DC5V/1A
- OUTPUT Port : DC5V/1A
See some photos of both below. The CFIV is shown with an iStick 30 for comparison. The MVP Pro is shown with an MVP 3.0 for comparison. 🙂
From Robert
I have been Vaping since April of last year (2014). Unfortunately late last November
(2014) I relapsed on real cigarettes for about 3 weeks due to the stress of a
psychiatric problem. In December of 2014 I was hospitalized at Mount Sinai Hospital,
intubated in the ICU Unit for massive lung failure (ARDS-Acute Respiratory Distress
Syndrome) for 7 days, brought on by a community pneumonia infection (I think it was due to my
smoking at the time). I was released on December 25 2014 from the hospital. Needless
to say a number of follow up appointments were made in respirology at Mount Sinai
Hospital. On April 28 2014 I got back from my appt. with Dr Balter, my respirologist at Mount
Sinai Hospital (in Toronto) and my recent chest CAT scan showed
exceptional improvement over the scan from Dec. when I was in the hospital
ICU for lung failure due to pneumonia. Also todays pulmonary tests were
perfect, so I got a clean bill of health from respirology! I don’t have to
go back!I should clarify that after getting out of the hospital, I didn’t vape for
about a week to let my lungs heal, and came back to vaping slowly …
why.. because I like it … and I like the hobby aspect of it!It was interesting thinking about giving up Vaping, I concluded I would
miss more than the actual act of vaping itself, but also the hobby –
social aspect as well.
