NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE TILEMAHOS NEW BUILD DECK BY GG/IMEO

THE TILEMAHOS NEW BUILD DECK BY GG/IMEO

This is an interesting new build deck for the GG Tilemahos atomizer.  This deck uses no screws to capture your coil.  You build what he’s calling a “spring” (coil with no leads) and then press it into the deck and it wedges into place.

From Rami

Hello Phil,

I’ve been watching your videos for almost 4 years , and although I have portrayed my appreciation for your hard work on your YouTube videos before (username zanzabar7878), I wanted to take a moment and explain to you just how important you have been in my vaping journey over the years.

Where I live, vaping products are banned, as is importing via mail. The only way i can get mods and attys are when my brother visits from the US. That means I can only get one mod/atty a year, two on a good year. If I get something and i end up not liking it, i’m screwed till next year.

This makes having someone like you, who is trustworthy, meticulous with a great deal of knowledge even more important.

I’m happy to say i’ve been very happy with every single product i’ve purchased based on your recommendation. You have been and will continue to be a major factor in keeping me off cigarettes, for that I thank you.

I’m sure your videos are equally as vital to those on a limited income who cannot afford buying a new product every month.

Keep up the good work Phil, looking forward to your upcoming Mouth to Lung clearo comparison 🙂

Best Regards,

Rami

From Andrew

Phil, I just want to tell you thank you for everything that you’ve done.
You and a few others have inspired me to become smoke-free and start vapeing. If it
wasn’t for your words of wisdom and knowledge of all products that you have reviewed
I would probably still be smoking cancer sticks. When I first started they be if it
wasn’t for your words of wisdom and knowledge of all products that you have reviewed
I would probably still be smoking cancer sticks. When I first started vapeing I had
just a standard 500 mAh ego battery and the original kanger aero tank with The
delicious bobas bounty but I wanted something a little better and more Advanced so
I watched a few of your videos and found the cool fire 4 and a RDA and started
building my own coils. Thank you for putting out the such great reviews and giving
people a little bit of knowledge before they buy to make their personal experience
better. since then I have gotten my mother to quit smoking and started fighting on
my old ego and aero tank set up. So we just wanted to say thank you and please do
not quit reviewing these products. If it wasn’t for you and many others like you
people would still be smoking and not know the benefits of these Life saving
products.

From your faithful viewer,
Andrew

FDA Deeming Regulations of Vapor Products Moves Forward

The planned “deeming regulation,” with which the FDA will assume regulatory authority over e-cigarettes, has finally started moving forward again. It is now under review at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), the White House office that is tasked with making sure regulations create more benefits than costs. There is little doubt that the proposed regulation will eliminate the legal market for 99.99% — perhaps even 100% — of the products over which FDA asserts jurisdiction after a grace period. (The grace period in last year’s draft version of the regulation was two years.) There is an unconfirmed rumor that FDA will attempt to ban all non-tobacco flavors almost immediately.

CASAA is currently working on our presentation to OIRA at a meeting that is scheduled for December 15, 2015. This is a process in which we and other petitioners are required to provide analysis to OIRA without the benefit of seeing the exact current regulation. However, we have every reason to believe that it is, unfortunately, basically the same as the draft FDA published last year. As of now, it is our assessment that OIRA altering or rejecting this proposed regulation is the best hope of saving the diverse e-cigarette marketplace until Congress changes the law. (Please note that some have suggested that individual vapers try to schedule meetings with OIRA. We are not recommending this to our members. We are, however, asking consumers to submit their stories as part of CASAA’s Testimonials Project. We will be sharing those testimonials with OIRA at our meeting next month.)

The Post Review Follow-Up:

  • 11/12/15 – You can, in a way, adjust the pre-heat on this, but I’m not sure I agree with it’s implementation.  In the manual, they say, “The maximum INITIAL wattage can be adjusted in VT mode”. In practice, these values need to be separate. One value for pre-heat, one value for the maximum wattage applied to the coil to maintain the temp. They don’t work together. Because if it’s JUST the initial wattage I’m adjusting, I should be able to set it to 1watt, there would be no preheat, but it would still come up to temp which it does not. So that wattage adjustment in TC not only controls the pre-heat burst, but also the max watts applied to maintain temp. Adjusting down to around 55 watts did smooth things out for me.  This would have been interesting to explore in this video and to see on the scope had I known they did things a little different from the rest AND I didn’t have to adjust the wattage when in temp control in ONE DAMN DIRECTION (LOL). Still think they need to be separate values though. 🙂
  • 11/12/15 – For SS TC, it’s tuned for 304 SS.
  • 11/13/15 – Something I failed to mention in the video is that the V1.3 of the firmware is the same as the V2.0.  The only difference is the screen.  So if you’re having a hard time seeing some of the items on the screen in the V2.0, go back to the V1.3 version as it’s a little easier to see.

SPONSOR BANNERS PRICE REDUCTION

FYI:

The number of gold sponsor ads that appear above are limited, and although I’ve been requested to, I won’t add any additional gold slots as it would limit advertisers’ exposure.

So I’ve greatly reduced the price of the sponsorship banners that appear to the right in order to make them more cost effective and allow anyone to sponsor, advertise, or be seen on TasteYourJuice.

You don’t need to be a vendor or manufacturer to have a sponsor banner, everyone is welcome to sponsor and be seen on TasteYourJuice.com.

If interested, go to the bottom of the list, click on the “Advertise Here” box and the self-service application will guide you through the process.  Prices are also given before you commit.  You’ll need a PayPal account and a banner with a size of 125×125 to complete your placement.

Thanks everyone & Happy Vaping!

A PBusardo Review – The DNA-200 Episodes I, II & III – The Board, The Software, & Some Of The Devices.

Now that Episode III is complete, I’ve consolidated all of the posts into a single, all encompassing one.

Episode I, The DNA-200. In this video we take a look at the board itself, the features as accessed by the device, and the numbers.

Episode II, Parts 1 & 2, The EScribe Software. In these videos we take a look at the EScribe software. They are one part tutorial, one part review.

Episode III, The Device Comparison. In this video we take a look at some DNA-200 device offerings. Note that this is not a full review of the devices. No individual thumbs up, thumbs down, or overall thumbs are given. Just a look at each with some pluses and minuses pointed out. The ratings are EXTREMELY subjective. Look for what is important to you!

The Post Review Follow-up:

  • 11/3/15 – There is some confusion over the charging capabilities in the Volcano Lavabox.  I’ve confirmed with both Evolv and Volcano that they use standard 1A charging like all the rest except for the Shark which uses 2A “Zip” charging.  It appears they have now removed the “Internal 90-Minute Lightning Fast Charging” comment from the website.

The Evolv Recommended Procedure For Calculating TC Material .csv File:

Note: Any manufacturer supplying TC wire or coil heads should be able to provide you with a .csv file.  If they’re not, IMHO, they’re not doing their jobs.

Run extension wires (kanthal is best of the easily available stuff, it has a very very small TCR) to the coil and back to the DNA 200.

Fire up atomizer analyzer. Short the kanthal together at the far end to get the resistance of the kanthal and mod. Then connect the kanthal to the coil under test.

Put the coil in a flask, fill the flask with the mineral oil and put the thermometer measuring the oil temperature. Put the whole apparatus on the stove.

Don’t start a fire. Use an oil with a high flash point and low conductivity. Silicone oil works best, but it is a bit spendy. Transmission fluid works if you keep it under 450F or so.

You can use this sort of setup to generate a TCR curve for anything with a little care and practice. The oil is easy to measure, and it keeps the coil at a nice uniform temperature. Stir the oil so you don’t get hotspots and don’t set your thermometer on the heated bottom.

You’ll then need to take the temps and resistance readings at room temperature, and at increasing temps to come up with the file.  Here are the contents of the SweetSpot Vapor TI .5mm .csv file to model your file after:

ScreenHunter_453 Oct. 22 14.02

Of course, unless you have some pretty special equipment, you’re not going to be able to get readings as accurate as this.

The Evolv Recommended Procedure For Calculating The Mod’s Resistance:

Note: This value should be calculated by the mod’s manufacturer.

Coming Soon

The Default Battery Curve .csv File Contents:

Note: This is provided so that you’ll be able to tell if the EScribe Battery Analyzer was correctly run by the mod’s manufacturer.  If you see these values in place and the device DOES NOT use Evolv’s recommended battery, the FullyMax FB900HP-3S, 11.1VDC, 900mAh (10Wh) then they are probably incorrect and you should run the tool with your mod and battery to get the best possible accuracy from your battery bar.

ScreenHunter_452 Oct. 22 10.27

The Default Mod Resistance:

Note: This is provided so that you’ll be able to tell if the mod’s resistance was correctly calculated by the mod’s manufacturer.  If you see a zero here, it was not done.  Although it can be measured by you (see above), it requires specialized equipment which you may not have.  I’d recommend contacting the mod’s manufacturer as they should be the ones calculating this.  This value will lead to improved temperature accuracy.

ScreenHunter_449 Oct. 22 10.25

The Default Case Thermals:

Note: This is provided so that you’ll be able to tell if the EScribe Case Analyzer was correctly run by the mod’s manufacturer.  If you see these values in place and you DO NOT have an Evolv DNA-200 Reference Device, then they are probably incorrect and you should run the tool with your mod to get the best possible temperature accuracy.

ScreenHunter_450 Oct. 22 10.25
