From Carl
Hey Phil,
It’s been a while, so I wanted to send an update and thank you. We exchanged emails briefly a little over a year ago when I was (looking back now) still pretty new to vaping. It’s been a year filled with highs and lows, both of which back when I was a smoker would’ve had me reaching for a Marlboro. I’m happy to say I haven’t even been tempted since discovering my old VTR, that awful\leaky tank it came with, and your channel.
I’ve also been pretty involved in advocacy here in Chicago (cook, ugh), brining myself and as many vapers as I could to local hearings regarding vaping regulation and taxation. I’m not sure if it’s doing any good, but it’s worth fighting for either way. I’ve given away more mods\tanks\atomizers than I can count (I guess that’s one positive of these vendors releasing a new product twice a day), and switched a good amount of friends\coworkers\family from tobacco to vaping, even if it’s just part time (more than a few went from hookah to vaping cold turkey, which surprised me).
Long story short, NONE of this in the last year would’ve happened without your videos, knowledge, and encouragement. This “hobby” has grown into a movement of people taking their lives and health back, and a VERY large part of that is due to your work.
Thanks again for everything you do Phil. I really can’t understate how much you’ve helped me and many others. I’ll always be a friend (and a fan, I’m pretty sure you’re allowed to have fans now) of you and the community you’ve helped create.
Carl
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY! PULP’S CULT LINE – WHITE CAKE
I’d like to congratulate and welcome Pulp’s White Cake from their “Cult Line” to my list of favorite liquids!
I tried this for the first time at Vaper’s Expo in Birmingham UK when it was in it’s “trial stage”. I instantly liked it. It reminded me of my mother’s Christmas butter cookies or maybe even the batter I enjoyed licking off of the beaters as a kid (who am I kidding, I still enjoy that, YOU GO MOM!).
The flavor on this one was very different from other liquids. My Greek brother from another mother, Dimitris also tried and liked it. He said it reminded him of Kourabiedes, a Greek Wedding Cookie with powdered sugar.
Packaging and testing were not complete yet so we couldn’t bring it back to the states with us. Pulp promised to send some along when it was ready and they did.
I was hoping I’d get the same experience after loading it up in a Kayfun and sure enough, there it was.
This one isn’t an all day for me, but I’ve found myself craving it enough, and have gone though enough bottles of it to add it to my favs list.
Do I get “White Cake”? No, but I do get a flavor I can interpret myself and I’m really enjoying. It also vapes well in a Kayfun and gives me that solid thumpy throat hit I need at 12mg.
This one may not be for everyone (what e-liquid is?) and some have described it as “buttered mashed potatoes”, but as you know… taste is subjective.
I was concerned by the rich buttery flavor of this liquid because “rich buttery flavor” often equates to diacetyl (DI) and acetyl propionyl (AP) so I’m posting their test results down below.
From their site:
Dive into Django’s white cake: you serve it up neatly but then eat it with both hands, fingers in the frosting. Hallelujah.
Pulp is a France based e-liqud manufacturer and what better time to send France some love…
YUMMY!
We could have chosen a trendy brand name like Liquidz, or Love-vapes, or even e-Delight.
We chose PULP. Why PULP? It’s not a reference to Tarentino’s movies. It’s all about Taste —fruits, veggies, wooden spoons, old school juicers… It’s a cook’s kitchen.
PULP is not the ordinary e-juice. PULP is both real gourmet pleasure and insane mouth madness.
Our dream team —the very same ones that brewed our range of flavours — is made of cooks, flavour specialists, culinary advisors, and of course… you. All of you, vapers, were put to contribution in selecting among hundreds of flavors, the ones that truly made your mouth water.
It all began on the gentle slopes of Mount Ventoux…
PULP was born amidst the dry scrubland of typical Provence Garrigue bathed in thyme and lavender fragrances. This is where our state of the art lab is located, in the shade of centennial oak trees.
Although lost in the middle of a wild landscape, our lab boasts the latest safety and hygiene standards of the industry. No wonder that our PULP facility became our breath of fresh air every time we leave Paris.
MORE FROM CASAA! PLEASE ACT!!
The shit is getting real folks. PLEASE ACT! Vaping needs YOU!
We need your help in urging Congress to take action and stop the FDA from banning nearly every vapor product currently on the market!
Please tell Congress to SUPPORT a proposal in this year’s budget bill that would protect consumer access to vapor products by changing the ‘grandfather’ date in the Tobacco Control Act.
Here’s the situation:
You know that if the grandfather date of February 2007 currently contained in the Tobacco Control Act applies to e-cigarettes, more than 99% of the vapor products currently on the market will be banned after a grace period. Congress needs to change the grandfather date!
Right now, Congressional leaders in Washington, D.C. are busy working out the final details of this year’s budget.
Currently, there is a provision in the House’s version of the budget bill that is being supported by some representatives that would essentially include the proposed language of HR 2058 (the Cole Bill). This simple change could help preserve the existing vapor market and protect consumer access to these potentially life saving products.
If Congress does not act, the sheer cost and complexity of the FDA approval process will lead to a de facto ban on over 99% of the vapor products on the market today.
Even if you’ve already taken before, your voice is needed.
Please take action NOW by contacting your
Representative and Senators!
We highly recommend sending an email AND making a call

FDA – DEADLINE for comment is Tuesday, November 24th, 2015
The FDA is requesting comments on a proposed rule about “Clarification of When Products Made or Derived From Tobacco Are Regulated as Drugs, Devices, or Combination Products; Amendments to Regulations Regarding ‘Intended Uses.’”
This rule — which we are referring to as “Intended Use Regulation” — has the potential to force e-cigarette manufacturers and retailers to lie or disguise the truth about the products they sell. Although the FDA is describing this rule as an effort to prevent confusion among consumers, the real effect will be misinforming the public of the risks and potential benefits of using vapor products. We think it is bad for public health and bad for consumers to force businesses to basically lie about their products.
Please click the link below to take action before Tuesday, November 24th, 2015.
Please take action NOW by submitting a comment on the rule.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE VAPE CIGE VT BOX 200
Well, better late than never. 🙂 This DNA-200 device finally came in and it’s a beast.
I really do like the look of this one and it is extremely solid, however it is also extremely large. I find it a little uncomfortable to use. It really is a handful. It actually makes the Reuleaux look small (see photos).
The battery is easily replaced, but the wires are REALLY jammed in there. I’m also not a huge fan of seeing the battery label through the vents. Would have been nice if they used some kind of breathable material to block that.
The battery is a 3s LiPo pack with an 1800 mAh rating, the largest of any DNA-200 3s LiPo we’ve looked at. Using the formula for WH, we get around 20WH. It came set to 16WH (in EScribe) and using the EScribe battery analyzer, came in at 13.47WH.
We won’t talk at length about this one, but I’ll add the data from it to the spreadsheet we did and we’ll talk briefly about it in an upcoming video as more of a show and tell.
NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE FISHBONE PLUS RDA
Looking to eliminate some metal from your dripping dripping life? Check this one out.
You know I don’t do a lot of dripper reviews, but I decided to accept this one. The build deck is very Velocity-like, (which I love) but that’s where the similarities end.
Your liquid doesn’t sit in a metal pool on this one, but rather in a removable ceramic cup. The walls are also glass.
No need for a hex key on this one as the grub screws are phillips.
There are a couple negatives on this one. First, you cannot use your own tip, it is an integrated design. Also, the airflow, although unique, is non-adjustable.
From iCloudCig:
The Fishbone Plus RDA is a stainless steel and pyrex glass atomizer that sports a two-post build deck and a decently sized juice well. It features top airflow, virtually eliminating any possible leaks. This RDA is hands down one of the most innovative atomizers that we have seen come though our doors. CloudJoy Fishbone Plus RDA
Features:
- Top Airflow
- 22 mm base
- Ceramic Build Deck for a clean and pure taste
- Two Post deck
- Authenticity code on the packing box
Includes:
- Fishbone Plus RDA
- 1x – Spare Glass Tube
- 1x – Bag O’ screws, o-rings, and screwdriver
NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE JAC VAPOUR SERIES-B TILT
A very simple and solid little PV from Jac Vapour.
Nothing too fancy here and no temp control, just a solid little 40W, single 18650 box mod.
It had a rubberized finished, feels good in the hand, and looks pretty good. The magnetic battery door is solid and holds firm.
The top is slightly slanted “tiling” your atomizer into your mouth for those who are too lazy to do it with their own wrist. 🙂
- Variable wattage 5-40 watts
- Variable voltage 2-8.5 volts
- Spring Loaded 510 pin
- .2 – 3.0 ohms
NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE VAPORESSO TARGET 75W VTC KIT WITH CERAMIC COILS
THE VAPORESSO TARGET 75W VTC KIT WITH CERAMIC COILS
The design on this one? A little gimmicky and perhaps even a little childish I think, yet it is quite comfortable to hold. When I saw the large red “thumb rest” on the back, I really thought this one had fire buttons on both the front (red trigger) and the back, but alas, it is simply a “thumb rest”.
The coil heads on this one use a ceramic core (no cotton) and promise:
- No spitting
- No dry hits
- Self cleaning
- Longer lifecycles
I’ve had very little luck with coils utilizing ceramics as wicks so this will be interesting to try out.
Some additional information I’ve been able to gather:
- 5-75 watts max
- .15-5 ohms
- Magnetic battery door
- Single 18650 battery
- On-board charger
- 2A charging
- Auto-detect TC coil
- NI200 support
- Gold plated brass 510 pin
- SS 510 threading
- Finish is spray-painted
- Available in multiple colors
NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE ASPIRE ODYSSEY MINI KIT
A nice little, almost all-inclusive (no RBA or batteries) kit for a beginner or someone looking for a backup.
This kit includes:
- Triton mini tank (a 1.8ohms Clapton coil pre-installed )
- Pegasus mini mod(no cell)
- 1.2ohms kanthal coil
- Ni200 0.15 ohm temperature control coil
- extra glass tube
- USB charger
I really do wish some of these kits would include batteries for those beginning vapers who don’t have drawers full of them. 🙂
I’m pressed with the display on this one. Big and bright and quite easy to see.
More from Aspire:
This kit is comprised of the Triton mini tank, the Pegasus mini, and an Aspire micro USB cable. The Triton mini is a truly versatile pint sized dynamo with its’ wide range of coil options and truly adjustable airflow controls. Not to mention the convenience of its’ top filling capability. Then there is the Pegasus mini mod, an ergonomic device that is sleek and elegant as well as possibly being the easiest to use temperature control device currently available, as well as one of the smallest. With swappable batteries, wattage adjustment from 1 to 50 watts in regulated mode, capable of firing atomizers from 0.1ohm to 3.0ohms in REG mode and in BYPASS mode it can fire coils from 0.2ohm to 3.0ohms. It is a perfect match for the Triton mini . Their individual versatility is impressive, but together they are amazing. All in the palm of your hand.
NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE ARCTIC DOLPHIN ADT-210TC
I haven’t been a huge fan of the Arctic Dolphin mods and I question this one promising 210W on two 18650 batteries in series. Keep in mind that the DNA-200 promises a max power and max preheat of 133 watts on 2 18650s.
The box doesn’t feel too bad in the hand and those who like a center mounted 510 connection in a box may like this one.
The buttons have a slightly hollow and cheap press to them.
There is a more substantial menu on this one with a fair number of features.
Here are the advertised specifications:
- 200-650F (Celsius Supported)
- Spring Loaded 510 pin
- On-board charging via micro USB
- TI/NI/PT TC coil support
- Wattage 5-210W
- TC Resistance Range – .06 – 1.0 ohms
- Wattage Resistance Range – .1 – 2.1 ohms
- Max Voltage – 7V
- Max Amps – 45A
- Magnetic battery door
