THE SQUAPE X [DREAM] REVIEW IS NOW ON HOLD (AGAIN) & A HEADS UP

WHY?

IMHO the Squape has gone from a mouth to lung (MTL) tank, to a MTL tank that tried to do direct lung (DL), and finally with it’s latest iteration, a DL tank that tries to do MTL.

My experience with MTL has been dismal at best with this tank.

First, the airflow is not ideal for MTL. When you tighten it up enough for a comfortable MTL, the air hits the side of the coil by the post not the center. That and the proximity of the airflow to the coil leads to a good, but somewhat harsh vape.

Second, when the airflow is tight enough for a comfortable MTL, the device pulls WAY too much liquid in and it winds up leaking. The issue was really bad with up to a 50/50 PG/VG but still happened a bit with a max VG liquid.

Now, when I open up the airflow and use it as a direct lung, it works pretty well, and I’ve seen very little if any leaking.

So if I were to review this the way it is today, it would be thumbs up for DL and thumbs down for MTL. So the DL crowd may want to have a closer look.

They’ve informed me that they’re working on a new deck that will turn it into a perfect MTL device and suggested I hold off on the review until that deck is ready so I can show the device with both decks side by side. They estimate it will be ready before summer.

So that’s what I’m going to do, but I’m also going to give you a heads up. If you’re thinking about the Squape X [DREAM] for your next MTL tank. HOLD OFF! Hopefully the new deck will solve my issues. Well, at least my issues with the tank, my other issues will require advanced counseling. 🙂

ONE MORE DOWN (MAYBE), LOTS MORE TO GO!

According to the VTA, I’ve just found out that the proposed FAA ban on air travel with ecigs is dead.  Great work everyone! Next!!!

Well, hopefully…

Now this from SFATA:

Member Update Regarding U.S. Senate Potential Ban of Vapor Products on Commercial Flights

Cynthia Cabrera, president and executive director of SFATA, today issued the following member update regarding a Senate action to debate the FAA reauthorization on the Senate Floor.

Dear Member:

At SFATA we provide timely, accurate and complete information. As you know, last Friday April 8th we reported on an amendment introduced by Sen. Blumenthal to the FAA reauthorization bill which would restrict vapers from being able to carry vapor products in their carry on luggage.

Thanks to our immediate actions to inform the vapor industry, SFATA businesses, interested parties, and consumers took action. Similarly, several days later, other groups issued calls to action.

On April 11th, the Senate adopted language on Lithium Ion batteries by unanimous consent. This amendment, referred to as Nelson Coats #3633, directs the Secretary of The Department of Transportation (DOT) to bring transport requirements for lithium ion cells and batteries into sync with the International Civil Aviation Organizations (ICAO) 2015-2016 requirements.

While the ICAO requirements pertain mostly to cargo shipments, the Nelson Coats amendment also provides for the Secretary to review and address additional safety concerns based on Section 828 of the FAA Modernization & Reform Act of 2012. This means that within 90 days of the FAA reauthorization bill being passed, the DOT can revisit the issue of what passengers are allowed to bring in their carry-on luggage.

Finally, we’d like to correct inaccurate information currently being shared. There was a 94-4 vote to end debate on Senator John Thune’s substitute amendment (#3679) to the FAA reauthorization bill but final passage will occur later next week.

As always, we will keep you informed with timely and accurate information.

Although Tom specifically said he didn’t want a plug, sorry Tom, you’re getting one anyway.

Thanks so much for this, doing things right, and for thinking about the smokers!  It brightened my day!

Just always remember to have something for everyone, no matter how they vape!!

Talking about impacts, directions, and impressions in your video today.

I’ve written a few times just another among thousands, however after today’s video and your Facebook posts I thought I’d just remind you how you impact others in ways maybe you don’t think of:

March 7th… This happened…

image005

Myself and my much smarter wife, opened a shop to help others find vaping.

You might recognize our starter kits…

image006

Your review is why they are here.

You’ll notice thirty six MTL testers (60/40) and only 15 sub ohm testers.

Some of your comments about accessibility for the MTL crowd are the reason for that.

It might be my shop, but a lot of our business decisions on stock, presentation, and some of our chosen standards (including the shop name) are directly attributable to things I heard and saw on your broadcasts.

You had a part to play in this, and no; no royalties for you 😉 we didn’t call it Phil’s place.

Warmest regards,

Thomas Kirsop, CEO

This email was royalty enough Tom, thank you and best of luck to you and your (much smarter) wife!  🙂

Hey Phil I just wanted to thank you for everything you do for vaping man.
You’ve influenced every purchase I’ve ever made since I started vaping a year ago
and more importantly, you’ve taught us about advocacy and fighting for our right to
vape. Last week I had a long talk with a house of delegates guy from my state and I
had a long talk and showed him my vape and explained that they were trying to call
it a tobacco product and really think I got through to him. I never would have spent
the time talking to him if it weren’t for your videos. From the bottom of my heart
dude, thanks a ton. You’re a real one Phil.

From Tony

Hi Phil my name is Tony from London and really just big thanks for the effort you put into the reviews you do as there honest, hard and not bias. I really enjoy these videos and have shown a few people them and it’s really great that someone cares about the products which are released. I was a heavy smoker and have not smoked for 5 months now. I am also passionate about vaping and love the whole experience that I’ve encountered so far. I have managed to convert 5 more smokers (friends) into vapors within the last 2 months( hopefully it will last for them). But thank you again these videos are great. All the best Tony Bradshaw
