NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE SENSE HERAKLES RTA-2 – 5/9/16
We’ve seen very similar designs, but I received some of these so I thought I’d share. This is a dual coil, direct lung tank with a Velocity styled deck very similar to the ones I looked at HERE.
There are a couple differences, notably the 25mm design and the large 6ml tank capacity.

Sense Herakles RTA2 25mm Two Post RTA
The Sense Herakles RTA2 25mm is a new version of the extremely popular Herakles RTA, redesigning the deck to accommodate an even larger variety of coil configurations while focusing chamber airflow into two oversized airslots and introducing a unified, dual quarter circle wicking system. The RTA2 builds upon the 25mm Herakles RTA platform, with the major redesign found in the airflow and wicking system of the build chamber. In lieu of an internal quad airflow, the RTA2 features dual enlarged airslots that measure 8.5mm by 3mm in a curving design, placed directly below the coil for effective and efficient airflow. The shift away from quad airflow also results in a new wicking style, in which each each coil shares between two unified wicking ports, resulting in easier wicking set-up and more effective wicking area. The build deck remains as a two post, dual terminal design with each terminal measuring 2.5mm in diameter and secured with PEEK insulators for durability. The chassis of the Herakles RTA2 integrates a top fill system with a 6ml tank capacity, giving it the range needed for a high performance, flagship platform. Airflow is fed into the build chamber from quad 7mm by 2mm airslots, with a classic airflow control ring to throttle and adjust airflow as needed. With a move to a more build centric design, the Sense Herakles RTA2 25mm Two Post RTA offers an efficient yet highly effective platform perfect for those looking for high performance RTAs.In The Box:

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE JOYETECH EGRIP II – 5/9/16
Well Joyetech certainly is getting a lot of mileage out of the Cubis design. We’ve seen it in the Cubis, the AIO, the Cuboid Mini, and now the eGrip II.
You can think of the eGrip II as a Cuboid Mini (I’ll be getting to that review THIS week) with the tank built in as apposed to removable… oh, and a fancy clock. An included adapter allows you to convert your eGrip II to a mod that will accept any 510 tank or atty.

Today, May 5th, 2016, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the final rule on docket FDA-2014-N-0189 / RIN 0910-AG38 (otherwise known as the Deeming Rule). It is important for our members to understand what happens next.
The FDA has placed the rule in the Federal Register “Public Inspection File” pending publication in the Federal Register. This is everyone’s first chance to see the new rule. It will be officially published earliest on Tuesday, May 10th.
Please keep in mind that this is not the end of the process. CASAA will continue to focus our efforts to develop sensible regulation of vapor products that will have maximum benefit to consumers. The most important thing to remember is that consumers will continue to have access to the wide variety of vapor products for a period of time before the regulations take effect. But, for now, vaping as we know it will continue and we are not done by any means. Keep calm.
CASAA will be investing our collective time and experience over the next few days to review the new rule. This review is not like reading a novel, or even the technical manual for a starship. Federal regulations are written in what we euphemistically call “Reg Speak” — legal language that defines the actions of the rule. It isn’t easy to read because quite often sentences, paragraphs, and whole sections relate to other published documents, like the Family Smoking Prevention & Tobacco Control Act, and the Food, Drug, & Cosmetics Act. These laws require skill to read and determine what is being said. This is not a job for amateurs as it requires years of practice; no single person is likely to get it right all by themselves.
CASAA is urging our members to be patient and remember that nothing in the rule will affect you tomorrow, next week, or even next month. The FDA will take time to actually implement the new rule. Please bear with all of us. We will be working diligently to provide accurate information and analysis just as fast as possible.
The most important thing you can do is to make a call, write, or send an email to your Representative and urge them to cosponsor and support HR 2058. If there is one thing that has to be done, this is it. Encourage your family members, friends, everyone who has supported your journey to participate.

FDA takes significant steps to protect Americans from dangers of tobacco through new regulation

Gotta hand it to HCigar. This one looks pretty sweet. It uses a 26650 or 18650 with the adapter. It features variable wattage up to 75 watts, temperature control, and utilized the new Evolv DNA-75 board.

Hi, first let me thank you for all the time and effort you put into your videos to help us vapers make better choices with our purchases. I have been watching your videos for over 4 years now starting with when you posted the boge vs smok carto video. It was that video that convinced me there was a better way of vaping then what I was doing before then. It couldn’t have come at a better time. I was at the point of giving up vaping due to the hassle which led me to search the internet for better alternatives. One of the big thanks I felt the need to send your way is for the fact you are one of the last if the not the last reviewer who still has a vape style similar to mine. Unfortunately the only other go to guy who has also been doing videos for what seems like forever has lost interest and has completely given up on being thorough in the slightest. For your continued effort I am extremely grateful.
The thanks that actually led to me sending this email has to do with the Hurricane. Since my first kayfun which was an incredibly expensive kayfun 3 ES I have been a kayfun vaper. Up until everything turned to lung hit style vaping I purchased far to many tanks and drippers just because they are new only to go right back to a kayfun. Knowing your style of vaping and seeing you show the same enthusiasm for the Hurricane as you did for the tiafun which I still enjoy I finally decided to spend the money and purchase the Hurricane and couldn’t be happier. Up until now the only real enjoyable vapes I have with temp control has been with nickel in a kayfun 3.1 or Ti in a 3.1 or dripper with a wismec rx 200 since Ti doesn’t seem to function well with my DNA 200 devices. That is until the Hurricane. It has been flawless and has given me a new appreciation for Ti and temp control. It is really nice to finally be able to carry a small dna with me and not the giant RX 200 if I am using Ti. I am a mouth to lunger who likes things simple and this tank is as good as it gets in both regards and is no slouch in flavor either. Anyways this is a long embarrassing ramble at this point and just want to say thank you for everything.

- 5/2/16 – Ok gang, I had a fumble in this one. The confusion as to when you’re in TC and when you’re not has been eliminated. I thought that pressing the fire + up button would take you out of TC and that’s not the case. Once in TC, pressing fire + up will toggle between adjusting in voltage or wattage IN TC. You need to toggle TC on and off by pressing the fire + down button again. This will turn off the Fahrenheit display and put you back into wattage mode. So:
- To switch between Wattage and Voltage – Press and hold fire + up.
- You can then adjust in either wattage or voltage and you will not see the Fahrenheit display. If you do see the Fahrenheit display in the bottom right corner you are in TC.
- To switch into TC – Press and hold fire + down. You will see the temp. Adjust to your desired temp and click the fire button. You will then see the Fahrenheit display in the bottom right corner indicating you are in TC.
- You can then switch between adjusting the wattage or voltage applied in TC by pressing the fire + up button. You will continue to see the Fahrenheit display.
- To get out of TC and back into wattage or voltage, press and hold the fire button + down and the Fahrenheit display will go away. Now you’re back to adjusting in voltage or wattage.
There is no auto sensing on this device. Switching between TC and non-TC is manual.
I will say that the manual could have been a little clearer here.
