A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Imren Gold 25A 3750mAh 21700…accurately rated but useless “max” rating
While this cell has a useless large 40A “max” current rating on the wrap it has accurate continuous current and capacity ratings. In fact, the current rating is conservative compared to other wrappers of similar China-manufactured cells. This is great to see! It helps to improve safety, performance, and cell life.
I am thrilled that the continuous discharge rating (CDR) is mentioned on the wrap but I hate seeing the use of a “max” current rating, particularly when it’s printed a lot larger than the CDR. I hope Imren removes the max rating soon.
The two cells I tested delivered 3785mAh and 3919mAh at 0.5A down to 2.5V.
These cells performed well, essentially equal to the Golisi S35 and Efest purple 35A 3700mAh 21700’s.
I am estimating this Imren’s ratings at 25A and 3750mAh.
Two cells were donated for the purposes of testing by Liion Wholesale (http://www.liionwholesale.com). Thank you!

I want to work for the vaping community full time! If you feel what I do is worth a couple dollars a month and you would like early access to battery availability and testing news and a say in what I test then please consider becoming a patron and supporting my testing efforts: https://www.patreon.com/batterymooch
These tests only note the estimated ratings for these batteries at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” batteries or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.
Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of personal injury or property damage. They are not meant to be used outside of a protected battery pack. Never exceed the battery’s continuous current rating and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition.
Any rating in my ratings tables can change at any time as different grade cells appear on the market, we get swamped with fakes, or new information becomes available to me. Please, never assume that the ratings in the tables are permanent and will never change! Always download the latest version before considering any cell purchase.

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Imren Gold 25A 3200mAh 20700…accurately rated, useless “max” rating, slightly better than 5-leg 20700’s
While this cell has a useless large 40A “max” current rating on the wrap it has accurate continuous current and capacity ratings.
I am thrilled that the continuous discharge rating (CDR) is mentioned on the wrap but I hate seeing the use of a “max” current rating, particularly when it’s printed a lot larger than the CDR. I hope Imren removes the max rating soon.
The two cells I tested delivered 3249mAh and 3337mAh at 0.5A down to 2.5V.
These cells performed well, slightly outperforming the five “leg” top contact cells wrapped by iJoy, Efest, EBAT, Ampking, and others.
I am estimating this Imren’s ratings at 25A and 3200mAh.

From NetteG
Hi Phil – I know you have all sorts of fans out here, myself
being one of them. My finding you several years ago by following links
on e-cigarette-forum.com helped both my husband and myself work toward
stopping smoking and switch to vaping. In fact, it was the first time
ever after patches, gum, pills, etc that my husband really wanted to stop
smoking and didn’t feel an urge to smoke in 40 years. So thank you for
that.
You KNOW what I have to say… first, it’s been my pleasure, second CONGRATS ON QUITTING, and third…
Don’t have nor do I want fans. Would much rather you call yourself “friend”!!
A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Imren Gold 20A 3000mAh 18650…almost accurately rated but useless “max” rating
While this cell has a useless large 40A “max” current rating on the wrap it has an accurate 20A continuous current rating. Its capacity rating is a bit exaggerated though. It looks and performs identically to the LG HG2.
I am thrilled that the continuous discharge rating (CDR) is mentioned on the wrap but I hate seeing the use of a “max” current rating, particularly when it’s printed a lot larger than the CDR. I hope Imren removes the max rating soon.
The two cells I tested delivered 2929mAh and 2931mAh at 0.5A down to 2.5V. Since these appear to be LG HG2’s, which are rated at 3000mAh, it’s possible that they are lower grade cells. I can’t say for sure though.
I am estimating this Imren’s ratings at 20A and 2900mAh.

VTA and CASAA ANNOUNCE “I AM NOT AN ANECDOTE” CAMPAIGN
VTA & CASAA ANNOUNCE
NATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO SAVE FLAVORS
June 21, 2018: Today, the Vapor Technology Association (VTA) & Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association (CASAA) announced a nationwide campaign to submit Declarations to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). These will be submitted regarding the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding the regulation of flavors in tobacco products.
FDA Commissioner Gottlieb recently announced a 30-day extension of time, enabling consumers to submit their Declarations until July 19th, 2018. Self-proclaimed public health groups have already rallied their members to submit hundreds of thousands of comments in support of increased regulation. It’s time for vapers to STEP UP, SPEAK UP, and push back on these baseless assertions.
FDA is seeking information to inform their future regulatory actions regarding flavors – this is OUR FINAL CHANCE to impact FDA’s thinking before it considers proposing flavor-related regulations.
Commissioner Gottlieb has repeatedly told consumers that their “personal stories are important to me.” So, if you are a vaper, it’s time to make your voice heard and share YOUR story of how flavors helped you reduce or quit smoking cigarettes.
The Commissioner has also referred to your stories as “anecdotes” which are regarded as unreliable or hearsay. But, your story is NOT an anecdote! Your story is your life!
VTA & CASAA are organizing the tens of thousands of smokers and former smokers like you to share your side of the story by providing FDA with comments in favor of flavored e-cigarette products for adult consumers.
It is critical that FDA regulators hear YOUR story before the comment period ends. Together, we have developed an easy to use system to submit official Declarations to FDA. This simple, fill-in-the-blank system will allow you to quickly prepare and personalize your submission with just a few clicks and a few keystrokes.
By making a legal Declaration, you are standing up for your right to legally use and purchase flavored vapor products that have helped you and millions of other adult consumers trying to move away from combustible cigarettes.
Follow this link – ACT NOW TO SAVE FLAVORS – to learn more and submit your sworn declaration to FDA today.
Thank you for all you do to defend vapor, and let’s fight this fight together!
A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Imren Gold 15A 3000mAh 18650…accurately rated but useless “max” rating
While this cell has a useless large 35A “max” current rating on the wrap it has accurate 15A continuous current and 3000mAh capacity ratings. It looks and performs identically to the Samsung 30Q.
I am thrilled that the continuous discharge rating (CDR) is mentioned on the wrap but I hate seeing the use of a “max” current rating, particularly when it’s printed a lot larger than the CDR. I hope Imren removes the max rating soon.
The two cells I tested delivered 3072mAh and 3099mAh at 0.5A down to 2.5V.
I am estimating this Imren’s ratings at 15A and 3000mAh. While the Samsung 30Q has 20A operation mentioned in the datasheet that is not part of its formal ratings and I cannot prove this is a Samsung 30Q rewrap.

A BATTERY MOOCH POST: Blackcell Proton 20.3A 3018mAh 18650…accurately rated, a good 20A battery
While this cell has a useless 40.2A “Max” current rating on the wrap it has accurate continuous current and capacity ratings and is a great choice for regulated mods. It is essentially equal in performance to the Samsung 30Q and LG HG2. The VTC6 still performs slightly better than this Blackcell though.
Blackcell’s are not widely available in the US and EU but are very popular in Asia. These cells can be a good option since genuine Samsung, LG, and Sony cells are hard to find there.
I hate seeing the use of a “Max” current rating on the wrap, particularly when placed above the continuous discharge rating (CDR), but at least the CDR and capacity ratings are accurate. I hope Blackcell removes this “Max” rating soon.
The two cells I tested delivered 3119mAh and 3109mAh at 0.5A down to 2.5V. This is consistent with a cell rated 3000mAh minimum.
I’m often asked about ratings like these but I have no idea why they used “20.3A” and “3018mAh” as cell to cell variations make that kind of rating unnecessary and confusing. It is very easy to misread these numbers, especially when they are made so small. Hohm Tech also does this and I think it just takes away from the simplicity and clarity we need when placing ratings on the cells we buy.
I am estimating this Blackcell’s ratings at 20A and 3000mAh.
Three cells were donated for the purposes of testing by Blackcell (http://www.blackcelltech.com). Thank you!
