THE INNOKIN/PLATFORM ZLIDE TANK – ON ITS WAY TO DISTROS AND VENDORS NOW!
From Karl
Hey Phil. I haven’t emailed you in awhile. I just wanted to say hello and
again thank you for all you do for the vaping community. I just got around to
watching the last smokers show. What did you think of part 2 of Orville? 🙂 I
recently got a job working part time at a local vape shop (Hometown Vapes) here in
Wilmington, NC. I just thought you would like to hear that I play your Smokers Show
on our TV during work. Our customers really enjoy it and I am sure some of them will
be tuning in. I recommend it to everyone but more so to those coming in for the
first time to get off smoking. Isn’t it awesome having your parents still with you?
My mom and dad are in their mid 80’s and are still going strong. I thank GOD every
day I get to spend time with them. Anyway, hope your having a good weekend and
looking forward to seeing Dimitris on future shows.
Have a great day, week, year!Karl

From Adam
Dear Phil,
Well it’s been a couple of weeks since you so kindly sent the care package over for my other half here in The UK. I did not expect to receive three devices and the excellent selection of E Liquid.
So we set to work using my dripper to find the best flavours she liked. After landing on four, all fruit based, the journey began.
The best set up for her is the Cool Fire Mini and Zenith Tank. The reason being that, surprisingly, the best wattage is as low as 9w.
So this has been getting used on a daily basis, and although there is still a little resistance to making the complete switch to vaping, she is now down from 20 cigarettes a day, to three. These three are, in my opinion borne out of fear of quitting, as many smokers who transition will understand, regardless of if they admit it or not.
So, in a nutshell, you, and Mr Pink, with your attention to helping smokers, has helped another.
Can I put into words the thanks, not really no, I’ve tried, but how do you thank someone for potentially saving someone from illness or worse, form the effects of smoking.
So instead I will just say this. You are both………..ok and Bill lol, who has stood in for Mr Pink, are people who put profit, money, fame etc secondary to the health of, what is in effect complete strangers. In my case we have shared emails over the years, but that is more to do with a warped sense of humour, which I will not stray into here ha ha. However, what you all do is something that not many people can say they have done, and for that I personally thank you all for this, and so will many more as they are also helped and encouraged, and supported to switch from smoking to vaping.
If any group of people are a credit to vaping, and the promotion of its intention, then you all surpass this by a mile

FDA chief Scott Gottlieb resigning
A very interesting development today:
Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is stepping down after nearly two years leading the agency’s response to a host of public health challenges, including the opioid epidemic, rising drug prices and underage vaping.
Gottlieb cited “the challenge of being apart from my family” in Connecticut when announcing his departure Tuesday in a note to FDA staff. He’ll leave next month.
What does this mean for vaping? Is it good? Is it bad? Time will tell. Relax, stay calm, and let’s see what the industry experts and advocates have to say.
In the meantime, convert as many smokers as you can and spread GOOD information about vaping!
There are many carrying this story. This one came from Fox News and you can read the rest HERE.
Commentary: Vaping and smoking are not the same — stop treating them that way
A good pro-vaping article by my pal Dimitris for the Daily Herald, a Columbia Tennessee based newspaper.
Vaping products can help smokers quit for good. A recent landmark study, published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, found vape products were twice as successful than traditional quit methods (like the patch) in helping smokers quit.
You can read the entire article HERE.
FACEBOOK LIVE WITH DR. FARSALINOS
Dimitris held a good Facebook Live with Dr. Farsalinos just a little while ago. It has some really good information in it and he answers some of your questions.
It’s on my Facebook, on Dimitris’, and you can also watch here.

VTA’s Statement on Altria Presentation to CAGNY
STATEMENT ON ALTRIA
PRESENTATION TO CAGNY
Last week, Howard Willard, Chairman & CEO of Altria Group, Inc., presented to the Consumer Analysts Group of New York (CAGNY). During the presentation, Mr. Willard succinctly described Altria’s planned actions to address the increase in youth experimentation with electronic cigarettes, including:
“Encourage FDA to take industry-wide action by banning retail and vape store sales of all non-traditional flavors until the youth issue is otherwise addressed, such as by the use of advanced age verification technology or pre-market authorization.”
Altria’s position that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (“FDA”) should ban the sale of all non-traditional flavors at retail and vape shops marginalizes harm reduction and does a disservice to adult smokers seeking lower risk alternatives to cigarettes for several reasons. In particular, (1) scientists have concluded that flavors assist smokers in quitting smoking cigarettes; and (2) current scientific literature demonstrates that flavors play little role in attracting teens to use vapor products. Altria’s view fails to adequately assess the net public health benefits of flavored vapor products and ultimately serves only to harm adult smokers while doing little to solve the concerns around youth usage.
For these reasons, the Vapor Technology Association (“VTA”) disagrees strongly with the Altria’s planned course of action.
VTA’s Position – Flavors are Essential for Smokers Seeking to Quit Combustible Cigarettes
For the past three years, VTA’s position on vape shops and flavors has been clear and consistent:
- Flavor Bans and/or Restrictions are Unwarranted:
Banning or restricting the sale of flavors is the wrong approach. Until science demonstrates otherwise, neither FDA nor any other governmental entity should act to ban or limit the availability and accessibility of flavors on the market to the detriment of adult smokers seeking to quit combustible cigarettes. - Appeal of Flavors is Subjective:
The appeal of particular flavors is subjective and not the reason most youth choose to initiate electronic cigarettes. Sound science does not support a plan that tries to categorize flavors as offerings which “should” or “should not” be sold. - Focus Should Be on Prohibiting Inappropriate Marketing of Flavors:
Prohibiting inappropriate marketing should be the focus of efforts to address the increase in youth experimentation with electronic cigarettes. VTA has introduced legislation in several states to affirmatively impose reasonable marketing restrictions. - VTA Marketing Standards:
VTA has repeatedly encouraged industry to adopt the VTA Marketing Standards for Membership which would serve to limit both access to and appeal of vapor products to youth. - Flavors are Critical to Smoking Cessation:
Adult smokers looking to vapor products as an off-ramp from combustible cigarettes deserve access to a wide variety of flavored products to allow for individualized choice in finding the product that works best for them. VTA presented a clear and unequivocal scientific case to FDA showing that flavors help adult smokers quit. - Flavor Bans Directly Threaten Vape Shops:
A decision to ban flavors from brick-and-mortar vape shops, even temporarily, will eliminate over 10,000 small businesses and un-employ tens of thousands of Americans that work for them.
VTA’s Board of Directors follows the aforementioned principles, and VTA intends to continue to fight for flavors at all levels of government. Our membership has too much invested in the vape shop and retail store channels to equivocate on these issues and we will challenge any efforts to ban flavors at vape shops and retail stores.
VTA’s Board of Directors is comprised of 16 companies that manufacture, supply, distribute and sell a variety of open and closed system products, including thousands of flavors. Our policies have always and will remain true to defending all segments of the industry.
