NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE SIGELEI 75W TC – 8/20/15
It’s been a while since I’ve been impressed by a Sigelei product. I had a chance to use one at my friend Niagara’s house this past weekend and impressed I was. Although I only used it for a while, it worked well in temp and wattage mode, was easy to adjust, felt solid and good in the hand (width was good, but perhaps a little too deep), and the battery covers didn’t wiggle.

NEW IN THE QUEUE – THE VAPOR FLASK BY VAPORSHARK – 8/20/15
I recently received the new Vapor Flask, this time by VaporShark.
I’m really digging it. I like the new rubberized finish better than the original. I seem to have better control of it in my hand. I like the larger DNA-40 screen (so far, no glitches). I also like the new battery caps which have a “flip up handle” removing the need for a coin to replace the batteries (although they are somewhat sharp)
What I really, really, really, and BTW REALLY don’t like is the fact that I can find no battery orientation information on either the device or the included documentation. Maybe I haven’t looked hard enough? Although the DNA-40 now has reverse battery protection, the device itself does not. So as an experiment, I installed the batteries the wrong way. This resulted in heat, smoke, and damn near vented batteries. Not good. IMHO this need to come with a rather large, in your face warning about correct battery installation which is positive side up into the device for both batteries. The good news is the board and device survived.

Some good news for a change from across the pond. So good that I thought I’d publish it here.
Article 1 : E-cigarettes around 95% less harmful than tobacco estimates landmark review

- the current best estimate is that e-cigarettes are around 95% less harmful than smoking
- nearly half the population (44.8%) don’t realize e-cigarettes are much less harmful than smoking
- there is no evidence so far that e-cigarettes are acting as a route into smoking for children or non-smokers
E-cigarettes are not completely risk free but when compared to smoking, evidence shows they carry just a fraction of the harm. The problem is people increasingly think they are at least as harmful and this may be keeping millions of smokers from quitting. Local stop smoking services should look to support e-cigarette users in their journey to quitting completely.

In an unprecedented move, Public Health England, a government health organization has announced their full support in offering vapor devices to aid in smoking cessation. Marking the first time any government health agency, anywhere in the world, has publicly announced it is pro vaping.
