CALL TO ACTION – PREVENT BILL S07635!
From CASAA (Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association):
This bill would:
If enacted, prohibit all sales of electronic cigarettes. It amends New York Public Health Law, §1399-11, enacted in August 2000, which prohibited cigarette sellers and common carriers from shipping cigarettes directly to consumers. The bill was introduced in the Health Committee and may be referred to the Rules Committee which meets daily. Thus it could be sent to the full Senate at any time. So it is urgent that messages be sent to members of the Rules Committee immediately.
If you care about your rights as a vaper in the state of New York, please follow the link below and follow the instructions provided by CASAA. We CANNOT allow this to happen.
CALL TO ACTION – Prevent Bill S07635!
My Letter:
Hello. My name is Phil Busardo.
I would like you to know that I am STRONGLY OPPOSED to bill S07635 that would ban all electronic cigarette sales in New York State. I do however, just as STRONGLY support a ban on sales of such devices and products to minors.
On July 7th, 2009 I successfully quit smoking tobacco cigarettes and moved to electronic ones. I have been using electronic cigarettes ever since. I’ve tried other methods unsuccessfully including gums, patches, and Chantix.
Since making the switch to electronic cigarettes…
• My breath has returned.
• I don’t get winded as easily as I used to.
• My sense of smell and taste have been improved.
• My blood pressure has gone down.
• I have no more pain in my chest when breathing deeply. If this bill were to pass you would be forcing an estimated 250,000 electronic cigarette users, who have already traveled down the path of tobacco harm reduction, back to smoking and condemning many to death.
Electronic cigarettes have been shown to pose little to no health risk. Claims about chemical contamination are vastly overblown. Some of the supposed contaminants occur at such incredibly low levels that they are barely measurable using the most modern instruments. Pharmaceutical nicotine products like patches and nicotine gum contain about the same quantities of “carcinogens” as a gram of e-cigarette liquid—about 8 nanograms. In contrast, a pack of Marlboro cigarettes contains 126,000 nanograms.
The health benefits are just one aspect of electronic cigarettes. Fire prevention is yet another. Smoking tobacco cigarettes cause far more injuries and fires then electronic ones. According to one study, well over one thousand people are injured per year due to defective lighters:

Also, over one thousand people are killed per year by smoking related fires:

I ask you… I BEG you… do not take my electronic cigarettes away. I am an adult who has done research and has made a conscience and informed decision on using my electronic cigarette and the results have been life changing.
I ask for you to make a similarly informed decision and do NOT allow this bill to pass.

As you know, I really don’t tweet, but I do have this site set up to tweet out new posts.
Apparently my Twitter account has been hacked and some inappropriate tweets have gone out.
I apologize for that.
I’ve changed the password. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

Kanthal A-1 32 awg (resistance) wire – Purchased off Ebay – $4.15 for 75ft.
Clear Tank: GR-Modders
Follow-up:
- I’ve been experimenting with Kanthal as apposed to nichrome. So far so good. A two inch piece with a tighter wrap is giving me around a 2.5 Ohm coil. The one thing I’ve noticed with the Kanthal is a bit of a longer break in period before the flavor starts to shine. Maybe a 1/4 tank of juice. I’m getting kinda a floral flavor from the Kanthal when I first begin to vape a new coil. Perhaps some time with the blow torch will resolve this. We shall see.

SOME ITASTE FOLLOW-UP
Turns out that you weren’t the only one interested in the review and battle. Innokin was as well.
I thought I’d share with you what I’ve heard:
First, keep in mind that the voltage drop Dimitri demonstrated was due to the 1.4 Ohm carto and the battery’s amp limitation. The Twist would have done the same thing. I was busy trying to be in-character, listening to the show, looking for a test box, trying to decipher his Greek/Souvlaki-Mouth accent :-), and watching the video (which always messes you up because there is a big delay between the video and the audio) Yeah… yeah, I know… no excuse! I TOTALLY missed it and I’m PISSED at myself for it. DAMN!
- Innokin suggests removing the top inside plastic part of the mouth piece to lesson the condensation issue. They are also working to improve the tank performance.
- Innokin is going try to incorporate a mini USB port as opposed to the Nokia port for the passthrough/charging feature in the next revision.
- Innokin is going to try to incorporate a feature that will display the Ohms of the attached atty/carto in the next revision.
- Innokin agrees that the specs/documentation for the X3 and X4 adapters are potentially reversed and are working to resolve that.
- Innokin feels that I am far sexier than Dimitri (ok, perhaps I made that up).
So, as we mentioned in the battle, they are INDEED listening. As I hear more, I’ll let you know.
They are also sending me their new Tidy Clearomizer (I always shutter when I hear “clearomizer”) and the new magnetic eGo adapter to review.
Just thought I’d pass that along for ya!
Note that I welcome any manufacturer’s information and will impartially post info here upon request. Just let me know!

VPLIVE VAPE TEAM REPLAY – THE ITASTE REVIEW RUMBLE
Here is the replay folks. Always fun to go on with the Vape Team, this was no different.
We snowballed this into something “epic”.
I realized too late that Dimitri put a 1.4 Ohm atty on the device so the amp limit kicked in which is why he didn’t get the voltage he was expecting. The Twist would have done the same thing. Too bad I didn’t catch during the show. DAMN!
As far as the “puff counter” is concerned. You can hear my comment on that IN the review. I would have thought a smart guy like Dimitri would consider all angles on a feature like that.
Bottom line is that Dimitri and I actually have very similar opinions on the iTaste, although we presented it in a pretty fun and absolutely over the top way. Finally, just to clarify, Dimitri and I have a LOT of respect for each other and everything you see was in fun!
Although I encourage you to watch the entire program, the madness begins around 18:30.
ENJOY!
