This will not take you long to do. Please be involved, take action, and SHARE!!
Budget negotiations are happening right now and we only have a short time to make an impression. This is the time to reach out to Congress and urge them to support us.
By March 22nd, Congress will need to come up with a plan to fund a massive two-year spending package. Right now, we have an opportunity to urge support for predicate date change language in the appropriations side of the 2018 budget that will keep vapor products on the market beyond FDA’s prohibition date of 2022.
At the same time, those of you who live in districts represented by a co-sponsor of the stand-alone version of the predicate date change (HR 1136) will be sending a thank you message. As much as some in Congress need encouragement to support us, those who are already on our side need to hear that we support them.
Help us show Congress that we are unified in our support for changing the predicate date to August 8th, 2016 and that we are in favor of reasonable regulation that protects young people and preserves consumer choice.

FROM DOCTOR FARSALINOS – E-cigarette flavors and aldehyde emissions: another failure to verify findings from a previous study
More than 1 year ago, a study was published in the journal Environmental Science and Technology reporting that aldehyde emissions from e-cigarettes are derived from thermal degradation of flavoring compounds rather than the main liquid ingredients (propylene glycol and glycerol). The study found non-detectable levels of aldehydes in unflavored liquids, but up to 10,000-fold higher levels of aldehydes in flavored samples.

The word around Capitol Hill is that this week is the final week for lawmakers to make their decisions on final language for the US budget appropriations bill. We have until Friday, March 9th to urge officials to support a predicate date change for vapor products (section 753).
We need your help in humanizing the tobacco harm reduction movement and your story is central to this effort.

As many of you know, a study has recently come out regarding metals found in e-cig vapor.

Study: Lead and other toxic metals found in e-cigarette ‘vapors’
Many of you emailed me with concerns about that study, and I responded with something I received from Dr. Farsalinos:
The “significant amount” of metals the authors reported they found were measured in ug/kg. In fact they are so low that for some cases (chromium and lead) I calculated that you need to vape more than 100 ml per day in order to exceed the FDA limits for daily intake from inhalational medications. The authors once again confuse themselves and everyone else by using environmental safety limits related to exposure with every single breath, and apply them to vaping. However, humans take more than 17,000 (thousand) breaths per day but only 400-600 puffs per day from an e-cigarette.
