“”Smokefree” areas in Christchurch could also become “vapefree”. The Christchurch City Council adopted a Smokefree Public Places Policy in 2009, but with the growth in popularity of vaping products and recent legislative changes, the council wanted to amend its policy to include vaping. It also comes after the Government passed the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products (vaping) Amendment Act 2020. The council’s draft Smokefree and Vapefree Public Places Policy would cover publicly owned areas which included neighbourhood parks, gardens and heritage parks, reserves, sports parks, playgrounds, bus passenger shelters, primary entrances and exits of council buildings and facilities (including libraries and recreation and support centres), licensed footpaths for outdoor dining use, and council events.”

VAPING NEWS: MISSOULA, MONTANA [Flavor Ban]
“Missoula City Councilor Mirtha Becerra says under the amended proposal self-service displays of flavored tobacco products would be prohibited and flavored vaping products would be banned altogether. “If you want to vape something that tastes like tobacco then you can still purchase that in Missoula.” Traditional flavored tobacco products could still be sold to adults by store clerks under the proposal. Missoula’s proposed flavored e-cigarette product ban gets its final hearing before the full council November 23.“
BILL TARLING – To aid in their deceptive anti-vaping agenda; look how the media wording under the e-cig image is worded (using illegal THC Canabis versions which caused health issues, but inferring it’s caused by the completely unrelated nic based e-cig and vape products in the article): “Health officials nationwide are investigating up to 450 possible cases of severe pulmonary disease linked to e-cigarettes. The Associated Press reports up to six people have died.”

“Japan Tobacco International Berhad (JTI Malaysia) said today it welcomes the announcement made by the government in Budget 2021 to tackle the illicit cigarette trade. “We are particularly pleased with the announcement that cigarette trans-shipment activities will be limited to certain ports only. We have called for a ban on trans-shipment of tobacco products time and again, as this loophole has been exploited for years.” O’Rourke also voice his approval that the government had decided not to increase excise tax for cigarettes given that the illegal cigarette industry accounts for 64.5 per cent of the total market consumption. “An increase would have resulted in driving more consumers to illegal cigarettes and illegal vaping”

VAPING NEWS: UK [Member Of Parliament Backs Vape Stores Special Status]
“U.K. Member of Parliament Mark Pawsey, chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Vaping, has called for vape stores to remain open during the Covid-19 lockdown to safeguard public health. “Given its vital role in smoking cessation, even when compared to NRT [nicotine replacement therapy], the case for vaping’s essential status is growing ever stronger,” said Pawsey. “Vape retailers do not just provide the tools for harm-reduction, but also the expert advice and support which empowers consumers to make a positive change. Now, more than ever, we should be safeguarding the country’s public health; vaping is an important part of that. Let’s support this sector, and all those who rely on it, by keeping vape stores open.””

“San Francisco could soon become the largest city in the country to ban smoking inside most multi-unit residential buildings, including inside units. The measure is expected to be considered by the board’s Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee at a meeting on November 12. The proposal by Board of Supervisors President Norman Yee would ban smoking and vaping inside housing complexes with three or more units, regardless if they are rented or owner-occupied. San Francisco has already prohibited smoking in enclosed common areas of multi-unit housing such as stairways and mailrooms, and in unenclosed areas within 15 feet from entryways or doors. If approved, San Francisco would join more than 60 jurisdictions in California that have a 100% smoking ban in multi-unit housing.”
