Did some more playing with my DID tonight (yeah, I know that doesn’t sound right).
Again, I was using the porous ceramic or the FC2000 wick. BTW – It was nice to pull this wick out of the old build, quickly torch it, and have it coming out looking like new.
First, I played with some ribbon wire, maybe also known as fettuccine wire. HATED IT! Even after torching it, it was WAY too springy. Got frustrated and gave up.
Then, I tried some twisted or braided 32 AWG. Wound up with a 1.0 Ohm coil in the DID, mounted it up on the EA mod, threw in a MNKE 18650 and DAMN! Nice vape! I think the coil maybe eating up the juice faster than the wick can handle it.
Very impressed with the braided wire so far and I feel it works every bit as good, if not better than the 28 AWG, but I certainly don’t have enough of time to say for sure.
A tighter wrap, or perhaps some cheesecloth (according to the maker of the wick) wrapped around the wick may help.
There goes my 15 minutes of free time for the day!
Thanks for the tips everyone!
